I think this comment really explains why she was not decent yet. That practice game was when she was just getting started. She is busy filming most of the time and had no experience. She is a hard worker and I admire that she does want to genuinely learn to play well instead of letting her PR people make up an excuse and wave it off.

I highly recommend "Falling Into Your Smile" for this. I really love "You Are My Glory" but this female lead Jing Jing has different strengths than what you're describing.
