In the novel, it took him days to reach the grave cuz he was fighting a war at the border, so when he arrived, the body is already rotting and smelly, imagine him carrying around that š i was so looking forward to this scene cuz I read the novel before watching the adaptation. Glad they kept that scene despite ditching the rest of the original plot.
Read the novel for a happy ending. I truly hate adaptations that doesnt follow the novelās plot, especially…
I read it at mydramanovel.com. Look for same title - kill me love me. The novelās title is Chun Hua Yan but they listed it as Kill Me Love Me so itās easy for people to find, i guess. Though i must warn you, the novelās plot is totally different from the adaptation, and Murong Jinghe is a total scoundrel towards MeiLin here cuz he never realized how deeply he feels for FL until her ādemiseā. But honestly I still like his character in the novel than the tv. Tv Murong Jinghe is too soft and cheesy. Nothing like the novel ML. Though I hate novel MLās treatment towards FL, itās this darkish nature of his that makes him more interesting that other usual ML. And i totally prefer the love triangle between ML-LouMei-FL than the tvās ML-FL-YueQin. The latter triangle is too stereotypical and predictable and the novelās.
Mydramanovel.com page is pretty good cuz it has many novel that has been adapted to tv. I read prisoner of beauty and guardians of dafeng from here. But since itās machine translated, some novels with many chapters (unlike chun hua yan with only 24chapters) always has mistranslation of character names which is pretty annoying and can be confusing. If you can ignore this, this page is really good to read novel translations from.
This drama is VERY GOOD. Why people keep complaining because it's not as dark as the novel? Excuse me, BUT it's…
I thought the novel Wei Shao from The Prisoner of Beauty is the bastard of all ML bastards that Iāve read, turned out this Murong Jinghe is even worse š i think writer of such novel really need to get their mental health checked. Super red flag.
I don't think that english should be the problem in a SHOW because if we are going that way there are plenty English…
Where did i say they must speak with english accent or without korean accent? All im saying is the super thick korean accent english that they spoke which is barely comprehensible shows how they do not play their ākorean living abroadā role well. Whatās more laughable is when their english lines can even be counted with one hand, some only have 2-3 lines only, and yet still fail to execute well.
Btw whats with this excuse about impossible to lose the incomprehensible english with super thick korean accent when other method actors can do it just fine? The squid game korean who played a main role in star warās series the acolyte took english classes for that role and i saw heās doing just fine acting as a main role in english speaking tv show. So yeah his korean accent is there but it is acceptable cuz itās comprehensible. Iām sure heās not the only one putting up enough effort for a role. That is the kind of dedication that i was talking about. I dont care about other shows cuz i dont watch them. And even if i watch and still saw a language that i can understand but been spoken horribly for a role that should speak it well, then for sure i would still criticize. It applies to all shows, just so happens i watch kdrama hence the criticism on this particular show.
I haven't seen this, but this is not something that only happens in Kdramas. You can even see it in big budgeted…

Often I see a drama with FL posing as a man, wearing mens clothes, and ML still falls for her, inspite of initially…
The only one that i think can pass in cross dressing role is Zhang Tian Ai. She really looks rough disguising as a soldier, her face has a tinge of masculinity and the fact that they tanned her skin only made it even more convincing. The only shortcoming being only her height and build. Saw her in Fighting for Love and she totally nails it.
Same !! The only time I skipped their parts was when I was bawling my eyes out and couldn't look at or watch anything…
Ikr. I bawled when he died. I was wishing that he was not dead yet, that when Wei Qu strapped his body on his back that wei liang would somehow wake up and say ānot so harsh. Im not dead yet!ā š had his character was the ML he couldve easily survived even the most severe injury. Such double-standard! Why cant support character also survive š
I have never rooted for any side couples as hard as I did with XiaoTao-Wei Liang. I never fastforwaded any of their scenes (like i did with side couples in other cdrama). This couple is the cutest!
Difference is ML entered her life first, she didn't.Shaoshang isn't perfect we all know that, Shaoshang herself…
I totally agree. ML is just too selfish knowing that he has a revenge to settle and yet drag shaoshang into the mess. I was super delighted when shaoshang left him after the first cliff event. He deserved it and so much more! He knew everything about shaoshang, and yet let shaoshang be in the dark about him. What a selfish bastard. I was not even moved when he decided to jump off the cliff, leaving shaoshang despite knowing she will never forgive him. In fact i wished shaoshang managed to slip from his grip at the last cliff scene and die, so ML would live in regret and despair all his life bwahahaha i dont mind a tragic ending here, this is the only time that i feel the ML totally deserved it.
It turned out i had a hard time moving on from this. So i started reading the novel. So apparently Mommy Xiao isnt as ruthless towards shaoshang in the novel than the adaptation. Gosh i wanted to slap her senseless when the on screen mom berated Shaoshang in front of the emperor just to decline the proposal. What a horrible mom! Novel mommy xiao is much more tolerable than the adaptation mom.
I couldn't agree more with this entire review, especially about the ending. I've seen plenty of tragic drama endings…
I concur. Although this show has a tragic ending, it did provide a complete closure and not leave us gaping at the senseless deaths around ML. The ending is perfect as it would seamlessly connect to the next series Sword and Beloved. I heard WQHY is gonna be a bad guy there and really harsh in Fuguiās upbringing. I dont think Iāll be watching Sword & Beloved cuz I hate tragic endings. And since in the fox spirit universe, their love would only be rekindled in their modern reincarnations, we wonāt be seeing that on screen. Dangit.
Never put web novel spoilers which are not covered by the show without warning. The first part is from the show…
Oh by the way, with regard to your question as to how everyone can recover from forgetting him - i have passed the part in the book where everyone forgot XQA. It was really short because this spell casted by his father breaks after one of the cursed oneās family somehow remembers him. In the novel, the one who remembered him was his uncle. I dont remember who, but either chief astrologer or yunlu director forecasted this and he wrote a note that led to XQAās uncle to remember. Everyone actually forgot him for less than 24hours and he was also rescued within that time š I wont tell who rescued him lest you say im spoiling it for you.
if you want to watch then just watch, it's quite good tho
The reason i asked is because i dont plan to watch fox spirit. But no point starting this one if i need to watch fox spirit to understand the whole story. If i need to watch fox spirit then i wont start on love in pavilion at all.
