I binged the entire 40 episodes in 3 days. I don’t mind the sad ending since sometimes it cannot be avoided…
Concur with all your points especially that brat’s part. Stupid and impulsive to the end, im just so mad he got to live while all those great guys who could have really changed the world during their lifetime lost their lives instead. It’s rare that i could hate a non-villain character this much.
Rewatching this for the third time. Dang my tearglands are gonna be working overtime.
Just came to the part where Qian Zhao went to call on Ning on the carriage, and then whispered “1,2,3,4,5,6….” as if he was conveying secret intelligence, while Ruyi was stuffing cloth inside Ning’s uniform for his injury, all done so that brat would see their affection. Totally unexpected move from the straight-faced Qian Zhao to add wound to the brat’s heartbreak. 🤣🤣
The comedy scenes on this show were so original! I laughed as much as i cried, thats why i keep coming back for more.
Hands down ! These was by far the most morally corrupt plot I have seen in an asian drama.
And here i thought china government is really strict about not letting this kind morally corrupt plot from seeping in. I can understand if this was a webnovel, but to be able to materialize it on screen is mindblowing. This, when so many adaptation got botched cuz they had to change from novel’s original plot due to china’s taboos and stuff.
Let’s clear the air.Bromance (although an unnecessary term) = good friendship between straight men, Like brotherly…
Oh wow i never thought when people asks bromance they meant boy love. I’ve always thought they wanted to know about the strong brotherhood kind and not the romantic kind of love between two (or more) men.
I am not Chinese, but I’ve noticed the heightened interest of boy love in cdrama, but i thought china was generally okay with it since there’s a lot boy love cnovels and I’ve seen Word of Honor which was about boylove (i dropped it because i couldnt stand the flirtitious ML towards the other ML).
Your comment should be pinned so people dont mix up those terms.
Im surprised no one even rated this. Im only at ep 3 but it is really good. The comedy is all on point and the action is superbly executed. Cant wait to finish and write a review on this. Im such a sucker for strong female characters and theyre all poweful here in different ways.
I never thought i’d dropped one of ma dong seok’s works. Man, he’s my fav k actor. Why would he accept this job? It’s horrible.
When i run through the reviews, i thought, “It cant be that bad?” I thought i could go through it because it had ma dong seok! Dannggg, i was soooo wrong! If it’s just bad writing I think i could still finish it, but i had it when they keep fighting in the dark (literally)! It’s like The Tyrant all over again and I didnt even leave a review on The Tyrant (but i rated it) eventhough I finished all episodes cuz it was “thaaaat” bad. I wrote a review here despite how bad this is, purely because of Joe.
Leaving a comment here instead of sleeping (it's 2:57 in the morning) is a must.I don't know why so many people…
I just finished luoyang and Jiang Long’s supporting character is one of the most notable of the show, i like the character very much and jiang long was really good at it. His chemistry with the lead role is amazing even though there wasnt that much screentime of the two compared to the rest of the main cast. I am quite conflicted about starting on this show if the character and the plot isnt well written. Still thinking about it.
Omg my brain went twisty leaving me utterly confused just by reading your synopsis. Like whaaaat? How did they come up with this? What kind of twisted mind could have written this type of plot? 😂 thanks for this anyway, saved my from wasting time watching.
Haha at your last sentence there 🤣🤣 it was exactly the same thing i wondered as well. And when the old general told XQS that he would repay his kindness in the future, the only thing i thought was, well you dont have much years under your belt i bet you’d die before XQS needed your payback.
Funnier even when they decided to off XQS right after. OMG o definitely did not see that coming. I thought the tragic ending was Tang Fang dying due to that little stunt she did with her father 😂 but anyway, none of the deaths here affected me that mich other that thinking it was too bad so many capable people died for this old general to come and impale the enemy’s general in the end (which any of the warriors could do anyway). What a joke. I wonder if the novel is as bad as the screenwriting of this drama.
Please educate me as i am a non chinese speaker trying to learn some. In the drama, the thing that everyone was after is called tianshu (if i dont hear it wrong) - which i roughly translated as heavenly book. Why did the subs translate it as Voidheart Codex?
Just curious as non chinese speaker, i noticed feng baobao’s and some other characters from s1’s accent is rather weird sounding. Were they speaking in different dielects instead of the official mandarin? I noticed two occasions where FBB used “ngo” to refer to “me”, which is cantonese (it’s the most familiar word that i noticed cuz i grew up with HK movies) instead of “wo”, but the rest of her speech im pretty certain is mandarin. This different-sounding mandarin is more obvious in s1’s outsider competition where i first noticed it.
I dont watch modern cdrama (i only watch ancient cdrama) so not sure if this is common in other cdramas.
