Wow, 2nd ML syndrome is strong for Cdramas. But sorry, I'm all in for our ML. I didn't mind 2nd ML so much until he started hitting ML's back. NO. And I don't like his sidekick too.

I like this show. Unfortunately, none of the leads have a strong international fan base to defend the rating. Also, suspect some rated poorly cos they dislike the FL. It's frustrating but let's hope it'll rise above 8 in time.

The fact that this person mentioned specific names means he/she is likely their fan. In any case, I don't remember these actors mentioned being offered multiple roles. But I did read that JCW has been getting many offers and he has had to decline some of them.

Watched any of Honey Lee's dramas? She tends to take on characters like that. One the Woman, The Fiery Priest.

No. He has never loved her since childhood. Please watch carefully. He's just being cautious because of how she was when she was young and how he has always been treated by the household members.

Yeah. I once made a mistake of criticizing one of the cast's looks (a side character) and was told off. Since then, I've learned to keep my mouth shut. If I can't stand someone's looks especially in the main cast, then I won't watch. But I never understand why we are allowed to criticize female casts' voice so much. I see such comments in almost every Cdrama. If the voice bothers you so much that it annoys you, just drop the drama. There's no need to come in just to say that. If the dubbing does not suit the character or it affects the acting, then yes, such comments are valid.

Are we allowed to criticize an actor/actress looks? If not, why are we allowed to criticize their voice so much whether it's dubbed or not? If we can criticize looks, then I rest my case. Looks and voice are pretty subjective. I personally find FL's voice suits her here.

If full romance, the script gotta be good and the actress need to match him. But all in, I would love to see him take on a new kind of role.

The Remarried Empress? Now that they're casting, I'm hopeful. It's fantasy and I would like to see him in that genre. I remember reading that the Koreans ran a poll and he was picked as one of their preferred to play Heinry?

He is sexy in action roles...just in different ways. Maybe this role is more badass. I actually found him sexy in The Sound of Magic too. Perhaps the long hair adds to the sexy aura.

Yup. I dislike Gao Peng too. Many were tearing down the FL for cheating on him but hey, he's no saint. He was pretentious and he committed emotional cheating. He was dangling the FL when she wanted to break up and then too cowardly to have a clean breakup with her when he fell for someone else. FL was able to confront him and communicate what she did when he wasn't around but he? He internalized everything and kept mum. The worse was falling for FL's BFF and then expecting the girls to fight it out cos of him? There's a lot of underlying emotional abuse there if you ask me and that's worse then those scums like the other 2 whose actions can be called out as you see them.

But TBH, I found the writing of his character inconsistent. Maybe the writer focused too much on the girls' POV but his character flipped flopped oddly between immature and mature as if he had some mild personality disorder.

I'm so disappointed if he's not in this project for the same reason you cited. Yikes. Really hope it's a mistake.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into The Tale of Rose even though I love the cast. I watched a few episodes and dropped it. I think it was the initial portrayal of the FL that made it too fairy-tale for my liking.
