Strong writing is not a guarantee for any show. Even with the best writers, some scripts still flopped. In any case, it's just me who isn't keen on S2 for this. I rather they focus on a brand-new story with the same cast.

Provided the writing is good enough. Otherwise, any bigger fish can also be wasted.

Are they seriously doing a S2? Going to be shot for this but I wish JCW won't do it. Cos most S2 are dismal and I'm not sure if it's the same writer, the story can be bigger and more interesting than this one. This drama is excellent on its own as a standalone IMO.

I was so surprised to learn that the actors cast for grandma and grandson are not veterans. They really brought so much life to their roles. I am particularly impressed with Billkin and his microexpressions.

Did shed some tears but honestly, I laughed out loud more than I cried.

Good thing the era is different. TWOE was set in 1990s whereas this one is current. I'm also liking his hairdo and styling here based on what I've seen. Hotter than TWOE.

Just managed to finish this after 2 tries. I tried watching when it was out but just couldn't get into it and gave up. After watching DY, I tried again. The fight scenes are pretty impressive but my main beef is the cast. I only like 2 of them: Wuxin and Tang Lian. The rest were quite meh for me. Sorry but contrary to most opinions, I prefer DY because the cast made it fun to watch.

Initial cases were interesting but the plot is looking incredulous at this stage with the OTT Lai Luo Zhi and the empress dowager with fried brain cells.

What family channels are you talking about? This is on OTT and it has a rating to warn you. Please don't spread misinformation to create hate for the show. Be factual. I saw this on Viu, saw the rating and decided to skip it. I'm only reading the comments to get a sense of the story and reception but I see this? If you saw the rating and decided to still watch it, the onus is on you not the drama.

Initially, when he was using in the mask, I thought he's a good guy but after watching more, his motives are really sus. But I like this actor too. He's handsome! Haha.
