I wonder what you hoped for. just curious. Seems quite a few viewers were disappointed. The demon parts showed a YoonA that I haven't seen before. I was impressed. Thank you.

An unexpected gem. Worth re-watching. Lim YoonA chews up the scenery. Some funny parts, some angst and a sweet ending.

Her exploration of her Family's is the emotional heart of the story. Much of the moving scenes involve her interacting or observing people dear or will be dear to her. This is like a Back to the Future story, but from a female perspective. If you understand and accept that, then trying to change her past makes more sense. The butterfly effect has limited consequences. And she doesn't have the experience that the ML has accumulated as an investigative news reporter and from his own experience since he got the car. Just my thoughts.

He became a slave to her from then. He had learned the forbidden techniques for her. She wanted him to learn and use the Love-Binding Curse for her to use on the Emperor, who never loved her, but her sister instead. Ep. 36 4:00

Interesting points. The ML and FL are one two separate tracks that sometimes coincide. In this drama, the ML is solving who the killer is. FL is exploring why her Family became so broken. She is not to be the agent of change, save becoming best friends with her Mother. She starts the drama resenting her Father and Uncle believing that they were the ones who destroyed her Mother's Future, but as you saw. they weren't. And for much of the drama, they won't reveal the Future to others.

There is a reason why she won't recognize her Father besides plot point. Ep. 9 and 10 will give a hint why. It is a HE and there are lots of unexpected twists and turns. This is one of my favorite dramas.

Ep. 35 27;;40 And it's Shopkeeper Ling Xiao and his comment about the osmanthus wine not being real and comparing it with his love for Lady Liu that begins the change in his mind.
I wonder if he will tend the unmarked grave of the original Liu Taizhen from now on?

Sorry. I meant that by posting which episode you were watching, if we want to make a comment, we could easily find it and do a quick peek to make an accurate comment. For the Snake Lord comment I went and reviewed four or five episodes to find the original Liu Taizhen had died episode. But I was glad to do it. For me, Mei Si and the Snake Lord and even Xuan Hui (black loach) are the scenes that I re-watch. Take care and thank you.

There are two reasons why the Snake Lord remains guarded about Mei Si's love for her. They will become apparent nearer the end. One is in ep. 24 27:21 and the other is in ep. 35 1:40.

I think that you should note which episode that you are making your comments on. The drama has ended so some might think that you are looking back at the drama. Hope that this helps.

Apparently Xuan Hui is reborn as the young boy in the last episode but without memories of his past life. My favorite character was Mei Si. The actor was the best friend in Cute Programmer.

Also Qiao and former bandit chief Ouyang.

Ep. 37 21:00 He asks Li Shuang if they were born in ordinary families and there was no Jin'an would she be by his side. She said "Living life with 'what if's alone is not enough. What's missed is simply missed. Her heart and fate is tied to Jin'an in this life.

For me, loving both is not cheating on one or the other.

After he was released from prison, he devoted himself to General Li and in ep. 27, he says that he is indebted to Jin'an for saving the Changfeng Army as the man in black. They don't go down the path of jealousy.

Ji Ran ends up married to the Army. He was true to himself. He was also left with a present from Li Shuang/General Zhenbei.

Things don't always go right for the good guys and for those pairs that we love. Qiao is not the only one willing to make the extreme sacrifice to get out of a Mexican standoff for her side. And Ouyang Jun gave her a heart rendering send off.

Looking at some of the comments about the romance or seemingly lack of romance in this drama. This drama is about Mo Qingchuan's drive to seek revenge on those who conspired to have her falsely labeled a traitor while she was a prisoner of the Chu kingdom. Her enemies are in her Xia kingdom with just the illegitimate Chu prince/general Feng Shihua from the other side. Of the two who desire Mo Qingchuan, Feng Shihua is more like the traditional ML. Were Xia Qiguang more assertive like him, then he would cast a shadow over Mo Qingchuan. Qiguang is muted for that reason.
I was satisfied with Xiao Qiguang as the supportive love who did not crowd her out. There when she needed him and there when she she didn't know that she needed him.

If one of the taboos of current Chinese drams is that historical events cannot be changed, then is one of the goals of the second season that Liu He cannot die like that. Are they going to try and thwart the agents of Great General Huo Guang and let him survive to become the Marquis of Haihun? Will the try to protect the legacy of the Marquis of Haihun? Mysterious Li Nvxu must be more prominent in season 2.

This was one of my first cdramas and I enjoyed it.
