Ep. 18 will change your mind. And ep. 20 will change your mind about the other. There is a reason why Han stood…
I can see what you are saying and feeling. The boat argument in ep. 20. That argument started when Qi compared his karmic relationship with her and with Han. From his point of view, Han made a promise to protect her but didn't when Luo was being humiliated on stage. And that was a critical failing. Which caused her to break up with Han. Later we know that Ms Liu parlayed securing Luo's Manumission papers with having Luo leave the yamen and Han stepping back. The ending of ep. 20 suggests that Liu Wan will allow Luo to stay with the yamen and that she will either stay with her cousin or move in with the yamen. i think that they will have a guarded sistership. Han failed a crucial integrity test in not breaking the engagement with Liu Wan at the first meeting. He failed again when Liu Wan was bribing 'Jin Nang." He took her away when he should have said that he was breaking the engagement. He failed a third time by not allowing Luo to decide for herself if she would choose love or freedom. He wrote a letter, but dithered and broke two hearts. I can accept either pairing. Just my two cents worth.
I understand being Guest Role, but did Zao Hua need to die????by the way I still think Yang Zhi Wen is Cross Eyedif…
Her death spurred Han and Luo to become one. Tending Zao Hua's corpse, Chen told Han that if you have someone you love, you shouldn't let her go. They hinted at a kiss during their date in ep. 17.
I didn't watch yet but I have read comment from everyone. Look like ''love triangle'' ? My feeling is look like…
At ep. 20 and the triangle is not painful anymore. You can root for both. Be interesting to see who, if either, will win her hand. Both have in their own way won her heart.
Her prospects are truly bad. There is a man-child who is far beyond her station- realistically she could barely…
Ep. 18 will change your mind. And ep. 20 will change your mind about the other. There is a reason why Han stood silent at the end of ep. 17. Running neck and neck. Any woman would be lucky to to be in the hearts of either.
She is not. She chose one and keeps her distance from the other. The ML entertains hopes in vain at this point.
The Magistrate won't dump her but she may part with him to save his future. Qi is the person who can fulfill her dreams of freely traveling the world. He won't be tied down by his job and can sacrifice his wishes for her happiness. Anything else of her wishes, is gravy.
Sorry, but do you know who Mrs Simpson was? And why the Fl will probably end up with the ML?
Wallis Simpson. The Duchess of Windsor. Divorced her first husband. Divorced her second to marry Edward VIII. He gave up the throne to stay married with her. Queen Elizabeth II succeeded him. My post about FDR was if he gave up politics to marry to someone tainted as judged by the standards of her time, (unfairly, I say) his accomplishments that were many and some crucial would not happened. History would be changed. And his wife Elanor Roosevelt's accomplishment due to being his wife would also not happen. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor left very little marks on history. It is not clear if Han without the patronage of the Liu Father will be able to rise and make his mark in society. And Liu could seek to punish him by banishing him to a remote area and block his promotions. And woe to anyone who might try to give him a break. And now Luo Shu, being exposed as a former courtesan would be the subject of slander and backbiting. Han would also be affected. Han may give it a try to support Luo Shu, but I believe that for his sake, she will break with him. Postscript. Elanor Roosevelt found out about FDR's affair as early as 1918. He was with his secretary when he died.
Ms Liu could easily ask her Father to block Jin Nang's manumission papers. That threat could be a two edged sword. Another term would be enfranchisement.
Ep. 14 raises some questions. 1. Who was the woman that Eunuch Zhang was looking for. Bai Yue knew her identity but his comments to Luo Shu seems that he regarded her as just the yamen spy. He would know her as Ding Bai that visited the temple and not as Jin Nang from Mengke House and not as Luo Shu from the yamen office. Is it going to be 2FL Liu Wan who is probably hiding. 2. Who would save her by braining Bai Yue and yet not check to see if she was alright. That would seem to preclude Qi, Chen, Cai and probably Han.
So guys which are considered the best short length C-dramas? Would like some recommendations
Really really low budget. New Year Beast and Demon Hunter (2024) 5 episodes 7 minutes each. Subs are wretched, but endearing once you know what is happening.
All of the short dramas by director Zeng Qing Jie are really good. Shows he directed include, A Familiar Stranger,…
All of the dramas that you mentioned helmed by director Zeng Qing Jie were in collaboration with screenwriter Zhao Lin. Butterflied Lover is my fave. A Familiar Stranger, too.
