Bai Bai He was in a little gem of a movie called Begin Again (2019) but you can see it on youtube as 亲爱的新年好/Happy New Year. Zhang Zi Feng AKA Wendy Zhang was her roommate.
The story tells about a 35-year old woman who has been struggling in the city for over 10 years. She meets a younger woman who dreams of a life in the city and a 7-years younger colleague and with the help of the two, her family and friends, she gradually finds her way back to herself again.
Worth watching and re-watching.
She was also in The Door Lock. A psychological thriller. Pretty tense.

The wife seems to have been kidnapped by the person in the palanquin. Called the litter or (stretcher) It was the one that caused the jam on the bridge and later is in front of where the wife left the underground. Will she be able to reveal what she knows at this point?

Ep. 2 starts with the first mystery. Gan Liang's death is apparently used to connect this with an earlier case. Finds out more about the couple. Ep. 3 introduces the scoobie team. Maybe a ship and a bromance. Finds out more about the wife.

Apparently so. How does the husband know enough about the technique? That might be an out for the serious crime of murder. Gan Jiang approachjng the wife may not be an accident. Otherwise the Chinese censors would demand that they have a bad end to pay for their crimes.
