You may like Bai Bai He in this modern movie Begin Again ((2019) It is available on youtube as Happy New Year.
The story tells about a 35-year old woman who has been struggling in the city for over 10 years. She meets a younger woman who dreams of a life in the city and a 7-year younger colleague and with the help of the two, and her family and friends, she gradually finds her way back to herself again.
The younger woman is played by Zhang Zi Feng aka Wendy Zhang (2001) She was very good in The Heart of Genius (2022) and in Homesick (2022)

Gunpowder weapons in the Ming dynasty
Arquebuses may have been introduced to China in 1523,and by 1548, arquebuses were being used in small numbers by Ming forces. They were primarily used against wokou pirates and their success led to the manufacture of more matchlocks. Thousands of matchlock firearms were being ordered for production a few years later. For example, in 1558, the Central Military Weapon Bureau gave an order for the production of 10,000 matchlocks.
There seems to have been resistance against adoption of more modern firearms (to replace swords. lances and arrows) and later under the Manchus, use of firearms stagnated. The concept of volley fire was developed by Qi Jiguang, author of the military manual Jixiao Xinshu.
And the Ming era military manual describes us of musketeers as part of a combined arms army with swords, lances and arrows.

Possibly the use of firearms that could be mastered by largely untrained citizenry as opposed to the the years of training necessary for swordsman, lancers and archers may be why it was limited in China and also with the Samurai in Japan.

Apparently the 18 minute 15 episode drama is the equivalent to the 30 episode 10 minute drama. So you saw the end with her being a sleeper and being awakened. There does not seem to be plans for a season 2 listed on MDL. The 30 episode version is now available on youtube.

The Nurse didn't and doesn't know why Haesu's Mother left him. She raised Haesu as a single Mother. Could she have given her up for adoption or was the bond with her unborn child stronger that who her father might be? I wonder if Haesu's Mother dumped him because she thought that she was damaged goods? The real father may be someone who coerces young women. There may be a reason why Haesu and Yui are/were close. Almost like sisters. I could be wrong. Did her Mother tell her who the Father was or did she find an old photograph?

Watch ep. 10 and his conversation with Yi Seo about what happened between him and her Mother. I think that you are barking up the wrong tree. I could be wrong.

Someone who coerces young women may be the real father. Haesu's Mother is unmarried.

Maybe someone else is the real father. Why did Heasu's Mother raise her in secret and by herself. Someone who coerces women to do his bidding may be the real father.

What if he isn't. What was the reason the Haesu's Mother dumped the school Nurse and couldn't, wouldn't tell him why? The Nurse had no clue that she had Haesu. Her Mother raised her alone. I'm suspecting Yui's father being the reason. I could be wrong, but it makes sense.

My thoughts exactly. Bits of closeness ,and only giving us bits, isn't making this easy to watch. I would gladly sacrifice the ML's father and the FL's grandpa's storyline for more CP sweet time.

Why did Haesu's Mother dump the Nurse? He didn't and apparently still does not know why. That silence may be important. She raised Haesu as a single mother. Is Haesu Yui's half sister? Did her father sleep with/rape Haesu's Mother so many years ago? Who will the Nurse end up with?

This director favored the BE (2 ML - Marquis died, ML may not have survived the 3 years cure) Butterflied Lovers. That writer, Zhao Lin, favored the HE. I suspect that she trusted him before but left enough rope to hang himself if warranted. When she saw the bag with the secret mark, she realized what he was doing. If she read the note, she would realize why. Maybe she realized why she heard that her husband had kept he in the dark. If Qiniang is not killed everyone in his family will die. The tutor and later his family who disappeared shows that crossing Qiniang may also lead to everyone in his family being killed. Between Scylla and Charybdis indeed. It would appear that the Hat Demon may be a warning for Qiniang from someone in the Zhou Family. The second victim being Commander Kang, who reports the Mr Zhou would point to him being the culprit. Kang lied to him for her/ or was it he told the truth to Zhou and Qiniang had him killed and is using the Hat Demon to continue depress land prices. The Brother and Sister and their friends tread unknowingly on dangerous ground. Will the Father let slip information that puts everyone in danger? Will Qiniang be killed or will she become a dangerous ally like Inspector Gu?
