The only issue I have with this series is the pacing. It's ok right now because we're starting to get to know the characters and their backstories. However, I truly hope they don't drag this texting daily-working in the same company-but never meeting trope out beyond one more ep or so.
I hate to admit it. But this series is getting better as it goes. The plot is still a little silly, but the mix of intrigue, comedy, and romance, shows the true chemistry of the actors. IMO, Dunk is killing it with his Style character. It's Dunk's best work! LMFAO!
OK. I get it that this series is trying to portray Po as the good little "uke" in this BL and that's fine. However, it doesn't mean that he has to also be portrayed as hapless, helpless, clueless and unable to cross the street by himself. Give me a break! He's a twenty-something college graduate and he can't cross the street on his own let alone taking advice from a teenager! That's a bit much! I still like the series, though. I just wish some of these BLs would act "just a lttle" more grown up. Just a little! LMFAO!
Another BL where the main characters come together through rape or sexual exploitation. GEEZ! I realize that it may just be a cultural issue. But come on! Even if it is, love should never be based on the rape or sexual exploitation of another. It's really time these trope-laden BLs just die out!
Doing a love series (even a BL series) involving persons with disabilities is extremely difficult. Given the sensitivity of the some of the subject matter, there needs to be, IMO, a heightened sense of awareness. Although miracles happen every day, and many BLs are drenched in fantasy and fan service. The reality is that many people with disabilities will live with those disabilities for their entire lives (without a miraculous cure, like in a series).
All of the previous being said, I think this series handled the disability issues in this series very well. Yes, the ending eps. were a little contrived to provide a "happy ending." But, the series still handled the disability aspects of the series with care and respect. And for that reason, I think this series was one of the best, if not the best series of 2023.
OK haters, come and get me! LMFAO!
