You have the right to your opinion and I think I understand it. However, before we go dashing Diew, let's just…
Agreed. However, why should it all up to Diew to dig into his past and tell about his exes, when apparently the same isn't being expected or required of God? It may be a cultural thing, but relationships are supposed to be somewhat equal, right?
I was expecting too. I think we all were, it's just I was hoping not to go down this "trope lane" yet again in a BL. That's so 10 years ago.
Diew was really acting strange in episode 10. I fully understand that God needs a break. I see that there are…
You have the right to your opinion and I think I understand it. However, before we go dashing Diew, let's just analyze God's behavior in this relationship: 1) he looked in Diew's diary and didn't tell him; 2) he didn't immediately inform Diew that he had run into Dr. Pee until after he questioned him; 3) he accused Diew of still having feeling for Pee and stated he was attached to the bracelet because if was received from; and 4) he didn't tell Diew that he'd been watching him at the university. I thought God was the senior here? But he is acting like a child with all this silly jealousy bit. Also, although this is fiction, why should Diew be obligated to tell God about his past or his exes? Did God volunteer to tell Diew about his past or exes? Even in a fictional BL there should be some occasional common sense. LOL
If the series didn't throw in this overused "jealousy" trope at the last minute, this ep. could've been much better. But I guess the producers needed to follow BL "fanservice" playbook to have some spiceyness to the last few eps. Give me a break! LMFAO!
Since it's much too early for Tatoo and Hoy to exit the series, I predict that the Boss is going to capture them (or kidnap Tatoo's mom) for stealing the necklace, before they can all get away. Then, Jack and Joker will have to combine forces to save them.
This feels like a more romantic take on the story. The production is taking the legacy of the original series…
Totally agree. I just hope the series doesn't get sidetracked by the old "top/bottom" trope/stereotype issue, that often plagues BLs when they starting getting good.
Wow, guys, you might want to tone it down on the hatred. Nobody said it's a masterpiece but using such hateful…
Good points, and I agree with you. However, IMO some of the comments seem pretty darn close. Yes, it's James' first series. Yes, it's cringe with the playboy boss and bad boss/"sexcretary" trope. Yes, I said "sexcretary." It's not my word, I actually read it somewhere here on MDL and thought it was hilarious. "Sexcretary," if I understand it's usage correctly, means a story line in which the character of the secretary is the following: 1) a sexual fantasy for the boss and/or the boss' rivals, whom can be controlled; 2) a person who also sexually fantasizes about the boss; and 3) is willing to be "manipulated, abused, harassed and demeaned" in order to stay close to or please the boss.
Although some may not like this series, but it remains the quintisential enemies to lovers series. Too bad the government intervened and ruined the possibility of a season 2. It would've been interesting to see how the production company would've pulled it off.
First, BLs have started focusing on more "adult" issues of the lgbtq+ community, getting away from high school/blue shorts stories. BLs started allowing the actors to do more grown-up roles. Slowly, the industry has gotten better over the past 10 years at limiting blatant stereotypes and tropes, especially in more recent BLs (they still need work, though). And finally, BLs have started reflecting the changes in Thai attitudes towards the lgbtq+ community, especially with the recent passage of the equal marraige rights laws in Thailand. IMO, all of these things are good for the lgbtq+ community, and therefore should be good for the BL industry. Wouldn't you agree?
This was an ok series up until that last ep., where we once again get a (5) year time jump. That's beginning to be an overused trope in many BLs. What!!?? Why does have to always be a 5-year gap and not a 1-year, 2-year, or 3-year gap? And, of course, the mains are always still pining for each other as if NO other person could come into their life in 5 years??? Give me a freaking break! LMFAO!
I realize the production company is trying to capture the "spark" that made the original Lovesick so charming. But, there's something cringy about this series and this is just the first ep. IMO, I think the production company is trying too hard to make it "just" like the original -- the only problem is the original was 10 years ago and MUCH has changed in the BL industry, as well as in Thailand. Allow the updated version of Lovesick reflect those changes and not just rely on outdated tropes and stereotypes
Okay. I get that this was a "different" BL and that may be part of the reason so many liked it. For me, it was still a bit disjointed, going from reality to the 4-minute other reality. The last episode did tie up most of the loose ends, so I guess that's okay as well. This series should probably be classified more in the category of a "psychological thriller." Because that's how this series felt to me. Sammon, the screenwriter must either have a good imagination or be really psychotic! LMFAO!

P.S. I still liked it though!!!! LOL!
