I'm loving it so far. The acting is really good so far and the story for the most part is progressing at a good pace. I also think that the story setup is really interesting. The only thing is that there are some things that haven't been fully explained (in spoiler comment down below) but it doesn't bother me very much.

I watched the episodes too and since I understand Chinese, the personality change was because as Yang Caiwei in Shangguan Zhi's body, Yang Caiwei has to pretend that she's still Shangguan Zhi or else people would get suspicious of her.

I agree, his ego is kind of insane and he wants the relationship to continue for his own motives. I also think to some extent, he treats XN like a trophy girlfriend to help boost his image. In ep 10, he got super mad that some of his other friends heard about him and XN having a fight. I'm guessing it just implies that his relationship with XN isn't as stable as it had seemed, making him lose face. Breaking up with XN would make him lose even more face, considering the context of it being a 10 year relationship, so them breaking up would more likely than not imply that he has some issues.

He says he loves XN and had never thought of breaking up, yet he wants to brush all their issues under the table like they don't matter at all. If he truly did love XN like he said he did, he would take the time to address and solve his and XN's issues because he would want their relationship to be strong and healthy. In reality, all he cares about is how their relationship appears on the outside.

I think a part of the reason is that XN has been with him for 10 years, and so he was thinking that she would just continue sticking by his side just because she has already dated him for 10 years.

From my observations, no. It's more so because interacting with him gives her benefits, but it's very possible that it could change as this is only based off the first 4 episodes.
