I think that spending more time with LY would teach CSS something, not exactly clear on what that exactly is. I do agree that he isn't very challenging for her though, like bringing out the best in her and potentially pushing her to better herself and face difficult times. I think they get along fine but theres not that spark that she has like she does with LBY.

Change is quite immature at the beginning of the drama (still in her teens) but she matures and her character improves a lot over the course of the drama.

Usually historical and fantasy c dramas take longer to understand, especially at the beginning since you are introduced to a whole new story and characters. Many of these c dramas, which are longer than modern ones are also more complex so things might not make sense in the first few episodes. Usually, I try to watch at least 8 episodes and if I still can't understand what's going on, I would drop it. This usually doesn't happen though since, by the 8th episode, I start to understand the plot. Some things, in the beginning, won't make sense until you watch more of the drama and then start to piece together the puzzle. Your opinion is perfectly fine since ancient c dramas aren't for everyone. :> (and yes, dilraba is super pretty!)

The Long Ballad is a good one. The FL, Chang Ge is a strong female lead and a fighter. She goes through a lot. The drama overall is about her journey of refinding herself and learning many things throughout the process; there is romance and the ML is one of the reasons she becomes her better self. The plot is amazing, its one of the things that carries the story along with the acting, beautiful shots and amazing osts.
