Oh boy, I shouldn't have read the novel. I read The Rise of Ning, Prison of Beauty and this novel. The three FLs, in their own ways, were strong, smart, ahead of their time. Still, they were stuck in the social stigma. Each, one way or another was pressured into arranged marriage. There was no love to begin with, only fell in love with their husbands later. And at a time when most men had multiple concubines, bed maids, these MLs including Ye Xian and Chen Xuan Qing in this novel, were too perfect even to modern time's standard. Back to this novel, I somehow dislike the main couple, but rooted for Ye Xian and to some extent, Chen Xuan Qing Ye Xian - Torn between family's responsibility and FL, eventually couldn't stand up to his family to marry the one he loved. My heart hurts for him Chen Xuan Qing - Couldn't forget the one that got away ML - Powerful, arrogant, dirty tactics to pressure FL into marrying him. And, as I see it, sending his son into exile once he found out previous relationship with FL and that the son had feelings for her. FL - unfair to Ye Xian. She didn't really know him, but already prejudice against him regardless. Romance between main couple - boring
No one is perfect. Artists can be brilliant in one drama and not so brilliant in another. Constructive criticism in acting, yes, personal insult, no. And it should have limited to the drama page the artist starred on, not on artist's page. Those insulting comments here, the main purpose is to cause fights with fans in order to spew more insults. Best is just ignore them.
One complain i have with this drama is the odd number of episodes. They should have included all disturbing details from the novel and made it to 16 episodes - to torture our souls some more
That was intense and what the bloody h*ll did I just watch? Every character was either miserable or a psychopath. And that psychopath of them all and what he did is stuck in my mind. I need therapy
to crack walnuts usually need a hammer or a nut cracker. But she cracked several of them with just one bare hand with little effort in front of him. Of course that freaked him out, probably was thinking I better go away or she'll turn me into these smashed walnuts

Still, I was taken aback how the story played out, what his reaction and what he would do once he found out. I was like "that's it"? Watch on and you'll see what I mean
What happened to this board? The drama has not even aired yet. The assumption that a young, non traffic, tiny fan base actress was able to fail big names, traffic actors in C-ent is a bit of a stretch. LOA or FSRMP with the cast of who's who in C-ent still failed spectacularly. So, who to blame? Also, there is no romance tag for this drama, so no worry about chemistry. It's a law & order drama that can resonate well with main land audience but may not be popular internationally. So, just wait untit it airs then y'all can bash it left, right, and center. Till then, no need to wish for it to flop, which I highly doubt it will. Criticize acting is one thing, but the level of personal attack on RM here, someone you don't even know, is disturbing.
As much as i hate LJX, still feel sorry for CS. Twice in a row didnt get the girl. Hope he colabs with RM once more where we can say third time is a champ
Just hope the drama ends in a high node. But no, writer,director still manage to screw it up. The wedding scenes were short and flat. LJX dominated half of last episode. His dramtic end overshadowed SY. And the leads dint even have a wedding kiss.
Most of the time I find slow motions in Cdramas are annoying and cringe. But SY walking in in a slow motion and the Duke's reaction, the scene is a stroke of genius. Hats off to the director.
The title is FL name. So, RM has a lot of screen times and in every episode. First impression is important and sometime shapes our opinion on the actor/actress. It sounds unfair but it's true for some viewers. So, If some find her acting was not impressed first, second episode then should just drop the drama. Just my opinion.
Something about YN expression when SY asked her if she has feeling for him that makes me re-winding the scene several times. She didn't say anything, just nodded her head shyly and a little embarrassed in her eyes. No need for word but conveying the feelings realistically. And that I call good acting
The kiss left much to be desired. Two paralyzed pairs of lips stuck together. A small kiss with open mouth, too much to ask for? RM, ZWY, you can kiss better than this
