Here is the award's full announcement and the votes result. Journalist still voted for CM and its actors, but critics didn't vote for them at all! WTH? I was wondering if they are homophobic or something :(

Additional info: CM ranked 1st for all categories for readers' vote which indicated CM's popularity among fans. But since there are also journalist and critics' votes, the final result is different. But nevertheless, the result is amazing considering the strongest rival is Asadora "Yell" which starred Kubota Masataka who has won many awards.
The funny thing is Machida's award acceptance comment, most of it is dedicated to Akaso LOL.

No worries! People do make mistakes but the most important thing is to learn and reflect from that experience. I do see that you're very open minded and willing to listen to others, so I respect that very much. Not a lot of people can do that. I'm glad that you have a positive experience with this community, I can attribute that to our love for the show. It's a warm, sweet story with no toxicity therefore it brings out the best in people and you can see from the atmosphere among the fans here.
You may also try to get to know the actors more (Akaso and Machida), they are truly talented and wonderful people who treated their roles very respectfully. We share all of their interviews and BTS here, if you're interested. A lot of us have become instant fans of them and even keep track of their next projects (me included, as can be seen from my profile pic lol).

To be honest, I was very offended when I first read your comment. Not only you insulted the show, the fans but also the actors that we all here love dearly. But I tried to calm myself down and not to react, since I didn't want to put so much negativity in this comment section. As you can see, this comment section is huge (14K+), I've been active here since early start of the show and I can tell you that this is the most wholesome comment section I've ever seen in MDL. Everyone here is nice, friendly and love this show dearly and there is very little negativity here. We all strived so hard to build this cozy little community here, out of love for this show.
But I tried to understand your point of view and RandomUsagi has done amazing job in explaining things, and I'm glad that you can have good and level-headed discussions. All shows have their flaws, and Cherry Magic is no exception but I hope you can someday come to appreciate it as well. Meanwhile, you're most welcome to join our community and check out this comment section once in a while, we always have updates about things related to the show and the actors, even after the show ends. This is how much we love them :)

Totally agree with you. I think I would do the same thing too, the fact that it's BL made me try to watch it in the first place and that the story is quite new for BL show, but it's a cliché for hetero couple. And the story might not be as dramatic if it's a hetero couple and I doubt it will have the same amazing chemistry as Akaso and Machida XD

As a hardcore Akaso fan, I knew you would say that Boron XD Kurosawa as the female character?? that's very interesting! but I can't imagine what her wild fantasies would look like LOL.

Since the next Anan issue with Akaso and Machida will be out tonight, I humbly ask fellow CM fans not to post the pictures from the magazine here as it is a violation of copyright issue. Good to hear that :) but personally for me, if that 's the case most likely I wouldn't watch it in the first place. I think this kind of story is already an old trope for hetero couples, so I might not find it interesting. But GL is definitely interesting! I haven't watched any GL since I don't even know if there is any good one.

Random thought: If CM is not a BL, in other word hetero relationship (with Adachi being the female), do you think it will be as interesting as this? (assuming all other conditions in the story are the same)
