What is happening in the comment section of the 2nd link? Who is homophobic?
I'm upset that some commenters immediately called her homophobic and disrespectful to the original work, while she is clearly NOT. In fact, she is very respectful of the original work and at the same time trying to make the story more appealing to the wider audience. I read all volumes of the manga and while the drama may tone it down a bit, the core story remains true. And what's wrong with making it more appealing to wider audience without labelling it as BL? Just like Ossan's Love, we are all grateful that it succeed in "normalizing" same-sex story and even non BL fans also able to enjoy it without stigmatizing it as "BL".
As a long-term fujoshi who already read countless yaoi manga for long time, I understand that "yaoi" or "BL" has a rather negative image in Japan, and the term "fujoshi (lit. rotten girl)" didn't come from nothing. Yaoi/BL is initially created by female for female to satisfy their fantasy, thus it is a totally different genre from the real LGBT+ genre, and LGBT people often find BL story disrespectful of the reality. Yaoi story often depicts sexual violence, sex without consent, rape, etc which clearly is disrespectful to the LGBT people. What Yoshida does is to make a story that is respectful to people as human being, not to merely satisfy some fujoshi. She said that regardless of whether same-sex or opposite sex, no one is allowed to kiss or touch without consent. It might be somewhat acceptable in BL, but for the real people, it is very rude. Thus, they want to make a story that put and respect the real people first.
Now, how that can be called "homophobic"?? I strongly suspect the commenter is a hardcore fujoshi who just want to see steamy sex scene. I apologize for the long comment, but I need to vent.
he is very cute in CM but I find him more attractive in real life lol
I find him very cute in real life, just look at him at this variety show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRMQ3HgtFc8 The way he holds chopsticks is very cute and when the host calls him "Akaso-chan~" "Hai" ^_^
One thing I don't understand is that why are they broadcasting the episodes so freaking late in the morning!!…
Initially it was slotted as a light weekday late-night drama where the audience watch, have some laugh and sleep afterwards. Now they have achieved totally opposite effect, fans are busy tweeting, laughing, screaming, crying and completely losing sleep afterwards lol.
Since many are confused about the spin-off eps and when they will broadcast, here the information that I gather from the official account and Tsutaya's website.
There are 2 spin-off episodes (Valentine & Rokkaku and Tsuge & Minato). Date of broadcast: 12/24 late night - same date as the final ep and according to the official account, it will be available after final episode broadcast (note: there is no info on the specific time though). Available on: Tsutaya Premium, WeTV, KKTV and hmvod (not broadcast on TV Tokyo) Commentary audio is available on Tsutaya Premium at the same time as spin-off eps, but I don't know if they also will be available on WeTV, KKTV and hmvod.
lmao I found someone who loved the painful last scene in episode 11 seskfsegsrmh she was happy about some drama…
I actually welcome a bit of angst in any story as long as it's not heavy or complicated, since it will add more varieties to the emotions. But laughing at it.. I think she needs to consider a therapy..
nah they don't have a rule like that, Makoto in Shujinko is a prime example but also I have seen members of Generations…
Lol, really? Katayose Ryota looks rather cute though, but again I'm not familiar with Generations, just started to listen to their songs recently. Sure, I already watched several eps of H&L Season 1and the movie. Maybe it'd be more fun to watch it together, let me know where I can subscribe to the watch party?

From the videos, Machida always looks calm and soft-mannered compared to the other members. But I think he is the type that can adjust to his surroundings. Thanks for the insight!
Someone said that his tweets are always written in an extra cute way. But they can't explain why :D I'm super…
I think it's because he often unknowingly made little typos/errors. He once tweeted that he is wondering if the quote retweet function in Twitter has changed? Fans rushed to teach him in the comments hahaha. He's genuinely adorable :)
Akaso-kun posted a scenery pic on his IG and he made a typo... again XD I lost count already how many times he made typos, sometimes I can't believe his dad is a strict linguistic professor. Maybe he skipped his lessons often lol.
