Back then, I couldn’t really understand Hae Soo’s decision to leave the palace after Chae Ryung’s death because to me, she’s just a maid and a traitor, why did Hae Soo care so much and trigger her to make such decision? Last time, I concluded that Hae Soo might be worried that she might despise Wang So if she stays next to him as he’s slowly changing and he has to make lots of excuses due to his position as a King.
Chae Ryung’s death is a trigger for Hae Soo that she cannot trust anyone in the palace, even someone who’s dearest to her could betray her as she was controlled by the princes. Palace is a place that everyone’s manipulating and scheming just to survive and the weak ones that have no strong family background would eventually be the first victims. Hae Soo’s decision is because of her pregnancy. She doesn’t want her child to grow up in palace and with her position as King’s woman (no title whatsoever), her child may be a target from powerful households and even the Queen (Yeon Hwa). She knows Wang So will protect their child, but to what extend? They will use the child as a weapon/hostage to bring down Wang So. Hae Soo is sick and she couldn’t be there for her child so her best bet is to accept Jung’s offer to leave the palace.
I’m just sad over the fact that Hae Soo and Wang So ended with a bad term and they missed the chance to at least reconcile when Hae Soo was really sick 😭It really broke my heart that Hae Soo was waiting and Wang So didn’t know the truth.

From this rewatch experience, I understand Hae Soo’s decision better during the ending and why she suddenly said to Jung that she desperately wants it.
So based on the flashbacks when they were young, ML. is not actually the real son???? right becoz the mother said…
I think that dialogue about “our son likes to eat fish” is more of a command to him to be the perfect son and not to be picky as a guest, so he has to obey and be respectful of what being served. If he’s not real son, she won’t bother to give him advice about negotiation when they went out for a lunch together.
I have a question. Is the guy who went shooting with Chairman Hong is Sa Eon’s dad or brother? Because he seems jealous and uneasy when Chairman Hong praised his son-in-law and said that Sa Eon has similar traits like Chairman Baek.
Gilho/Minseok must be immortal. He got stabbed multiple times and he still survives 🙌🏻 I’m glad that he survives, but when K attacks him, it’s kinda excessive
Until the end, Yeseo is consistent on getting on my nerves. How stupid she is, thinking she could revenge Jae Hee’s death without a proper plan 🤦🏻♀️ Jae Hee gave that video to her for her to give it to her dad. The instruction was clear!!! Ughh! Because of her stupidity, the investigation got delayed and so many people died along the way. I know the detective couldn’t solve the case right away with just that video, but at least it would speed up by knowing the people involved and that detective got a support from the government official to solve this corruption.
I didn’t feel sorry for her when she got drugged, in fact when she’s scared during the clinical trials, I was like “now you know what you’re up to” and I was mad that why it’s not her to be the first one.
the fact that they all become family at the end 🥹🥹 (I assume Ju Won & San Ha will get married), so Ju Won got her wish to have them as family legally on paper.

It’s still great drama to me after all these years. I’m still hooked and couldn’t stop watching it
