To sum up, there's a little romance but I can tell you that this drama is romantic, the romance aspect was beautifully…
Thank you for explaining.

So far (ep 8) there's very little romance. The guy develops a crush on the cop girl but no further development…
Ok, thank you for answering. I am ok with that. I love romance in my dramas but in this kind of drama too much romance can lower the value of the plot. I have seen that happen in other criminal/thriller dramas.

i agree when you said "if you’re a huge fan of wuxia/martial arts this would be your cup of tea" because the…
No worries. I was not offended. Just as I feel I have the right to share my opinion, so do you. And thank you for clarifying. I knew there were several versions of this story but had no idea it was so old and considered a reference for wuxia stories. I do not particularly like or dislike wuxia, it really depends on how much enjoyment I take from the drama as a whole. So I am no expert in this genre.

I think your comparison with Shakespeare was actually pretty smart. When I think about it, there is no doubt that the Romeo and Juliet love story is known by "all" and is seen as a masterpiece, but if I did not know the origin and importance of the story, I would see the characters as dumb. I mean, one fakes his death but fails to communicate that to his lover causing her to kill herself and then when he wakes up and realizes she is dead, he kills himself too. Pretty dumb.

I guess that would be the reason I felt angry at the characters. I saw this as a regular chinese drama and so I thought of their actions as dumb or annoying. But let me just say that the female lead was really cool. (I know I already said this several times in my original comment but I needed to say it again. lol) Wish more female leads were like her.

I think the romance genre was not there before. Did someone add it randomly or is there actually romance? I have not started watching and I do not care much if there is romance or not as long as the plot is interesting. I am just curious. :P

Before you start watching, remember to check the airing dates. This is a Taiwanese drama, not a Chinese one that will air several episodes a week. This will air only 1 ep a week for 6 months. The last ep will only air in July. So start at your own risk. XD

The first 4 eps are on youtube but the rest can only be found on the app. Recently I am having trouble using the cast option on my phone and watching it on a small screen is not an option. So I have it on hold indefinitely. T T

I liked it, but I cannot pretend there were no flaws. There were several things that bothered me.

Starting with how they made the male lead like Kan Di for so many years and show him still in love with her for several episodes, even having the female lead help him out and then from one episode to another he suddenly likes the female lead? That was too fast. It would be one thing if he still liked his manager in the beginning of the drama but had kind of already given up, which was not the case. But him changing from desperately trying to get the attention of his manager to suddenly being in love with the female lead made his feelings less genuine. The whole change of heart felt forced.

The male lead’s personality itself bothered me. He was immature and arrogant and saw his pride and need for total control more important than everything else, including the female lead’s feelings. Sure, there was some character growth, but it came too late in the plot and was kind of a forced one since he had hit the lowest point of his life.

The attitude of several supporting characters also bothered me. They were so one-dimensional at times.

And finally, the whole plot around the guy that wanted revenge on the ML was a joke. His hate was completely baseless and that is all I can say. See it for yourself.

There were some more things I wanted to say but to keep this shorter and avoid spoiling stuff, I will stop here.

Overall I liked it, but it was far from perfect. If I ever re-watch it, it will be only for the romantic scenes and with a lot of skipping.

The anime with eng sub is available online and more watchable. I don't mind the main actress isn't very pretty…
Thank you for letting me know about the anime. But while the drama is too long, the anime is too short. The pacing of the romance was off. He fell for her too fast, then they spent several episodes apart and then it ended. At the end of the last episode I was like: wait, that’s it? Where is the rest? I could not tell that was the ending cause it did not feel like one. Was it supposed to have a second season?

2 days ago, a photo of them together circulated on weibo. They didn't confirm anything but fans congratulated…
I am not surprised at all. I remember watching bts (behind the scenes, not BTS as in the kpop group lol) and they were too into the kisses while filming. Like the director said cut and they kept kissing for a few more seconds before they stopped. And there were several times you could see they were blushing and acting shy around each other. They had one of the best on screen chemistry I have seen, and that is only possible when in real life the actors do feel something for each other, even if its only attraction.

The synopsis is not accurate. The "real" heir never tries to kill Prot. They are twins and work together to catch the villain - Pramok.

2 kisses and one insinuated sex scene, no other ski ship or teases lol
The ones I can remember right now are:
The Eternal Love (S1 and S2 with a 3rd season on its way)
Princess Silver
Good Bye, My Princess (ends in tragedy)
Love by Hipnotic
The Romance of Hua Rong
Love Better Than Immortality

I have watched a lot more but I am about to go to sleep so my head is not that clear. LOL
I will come back later to add a few more to the list.

lol. Tell me something good about it please.
I wish I could but I dropped it long ago so the only thing I can remember is that they try too hard to be funny.

Don't forget she planned to do the same to him too, except her plan failed. Also she's never guilty about it too,…
Thank you for explaining. As I thought, the characters are too one-dimensional. That one of them had such a rotten thought was bad enough, but it seems both of them had the same stupid idea.

nah the female lead has a panic disorder while being a surgeon. She’s clearly not up for the job.
Yeah, she definitely has that issue that needs to be fixed. But personality wise she has managed to not trigger me. She cut her cheating boyfriend off cleanly, she let go of her pride and went back to Miryeong hospital instead of going back to Seoul and fully embraced her job, she is working hard to be helpful to the villagers even if they do not give a damn about her.

As a surgeon she can be a danger, at least until she does not get rid of her PTSD. But as a doctor she has the right motivations and experience. So I cannot dislike her character, at least not yet.

Yeah, historical kdramas usually stay away from the steaming part. But there are quite a lot of chinese historical dramas recently that have been strong on skinship, so if you are into that, I can recommend a few. LOL
