it had many good and great dramas, but yeah, 2025 looks more promising
I do like Chinese historical dramas, I think when it comes to that genre they do them the best, while Korean dramas have the best thrillers, crime, action, used to have good historical dramas too but in recent years they were not great... But wuxia, mostly xianxia, the ones full of fantasy stuff, are not my cup of tea either.
Btw, is your profile pic a gif from Judge from Hell? That was one of the few 2024 kdramas I liked.

She might be talking about kdramas only. I also think 2024 was a weak year for kdramas, I only liked 3 or 4 too. Good thing I also watch Chinese, Japanese and Thai dramas. ^^'

True, forgot that one, too many tragic deaths this year alone to remember them all. And yes, hopefully Blossom will have a happy ending. I am waiting for all episodes to be out to binge-watch.

Mostly people who watch historical cdramas. When I first started I was traumatised by how many ended in tragedy but the past few years it got better, more happy endings.
This year they decided to mess with us again: Lost You Forever, Love of Nirvana, Kill Me Love Me, Snowy Night Timeless Love, The Story of Pearl Girl, and these are just the ones I remember off the top of my head.
If we go into short dramas, specially the ones happening in the republican era, then the list just gets bigger.
I lost my interest since around episode 23. I came back to check for the comments whether I should complete it…
Yeah, I also think the start was the best part and I liked it for a little more than episode 20 because we got to see some sweet moments between the main leads. It felt like we were prisoners on death row having our last meal without knowing it l because right after those moments it went downhill. ^^'
Seeing preview of episode 39 makes me want to cry. Did they really need to kill off Zhuge?? I may not like the…
And it was not only him they killed. The last episode was disappointing. Chinese dramas this year seem to really enjoy killing off characters for no reason. Sigh
Overall I was really enjoying this one but the last 10 episodes or so considerably lowered my enjoyment while watching it. What happened was no surprise since it says in the synopsis that the FL would be taken away, but starting around that point the plot became annoying. With 40 episodes they waited until the last episode to resolve most things and deal with the villains that were bothering us the entire time. There were also some unnecessary deaths that seemed to happen just because this is a historical c-drama so some people must die near the end.
By the end of it, I mostly forgot all I liked about this drama in the first place, which is a shame. The last 5 episodes were watched just so I could get it done with and not with the antecipation I had when watching all the other episodes. I don’t know what happened this year but a lot of Chinese dramas either had plots that went downhill near the end (like this one) or had at least one of the main leads dying in the last episode, some had both. Sigh
I started this thinking I would just skim through it and watch it in a few hours. I was wrong. For Thai standards, this was pretty well produced.
I was invested in the story and the acting was great. Of course, I wanted a happy ending but the way it ended was a lot more realistic.
This kind of production although hard to watch is very important to remind us that there is a lot of messed up stuff going on around us that we do not notice in our daily lives.
Your opinion is subjective. Most of the people love her works still and both The Last Immortal and The Story of…
So true, it all comes down to our taste. The Last Immortal was not my cup of tea, ended up dropping it which is very rare for me to do to one of her dramas’. But this one was right up my alley, aside from the ending and a few things here and there that I felt were missing I really liked this one. The actors did a great job, there were a lot of characters I cared about and the main leads had great chemistry. It is always nice to see strong, intelligent and independent women as main characters. I am sure next year she will keep doing a great job.
This drama happened a long time ago for me. Forgive me for not remembering exactly what I felt, thought and what…
No problem, I only remember the drama because I recently re-watched it with my mother and yes, it is quite slow at times and there were a few things I did not like, I am also a quite picky viewer. ^^'
I just thought your rating was even lower than the ones I give, but seeing how you give 1/10 to the ones you really don’t like, your 4.5 is probably similar to my 6.5 or 7. Anyway, we agree the highest point was the acting, the actors did a great job.
The jokes were much better than the ones from Smile Code, some were actually funny, and I liked how it reminded…
The second boyfriend is not even worth mentioning, they were never going to work out, they were too different. Zheng Hao I did not like at first but after all the changes he made, he became quite likable, turns out he had some similarities with the FL.
Now, the ML, why don’t I think he should end up with the FL? Well, although they have a lot in common, they could be great friends but not really a great couple. The ML takes relationships too lightly, starts dating and breaks up as easily, runs from all kind of commitements and cannot provide her with any sort of stability if later on she gets pregnant or her parents get ill. For a life partner she needs someone who can support her choices and let her be herself while being able to commit in some way and by the end Zheng Hao seemed like that guy.
Just the opinion of a 30 year old, I would probably have a different view if I was still 15. ^^'

With that said, when I started watching it had the tag romance and I thought the romance would play a bigger role in the plot and would be worth watching, which was not the case. By the end I actually felt she would be better off with her ex, who I could not stand at first. Read the spoiler to find out why.
Did you watch the second part? Most of what you mentioned happens in the second part. The FL is young and the first part focus more on her character growth. 4.5 seems like a pretty harsh rating. Maybe you just watched it with the wrong expectations, has happened to me before. I do not even watch trailers anymore, not only because they are full of spoilers but because they may create wrong expectations by showing things that play a little part in the plot, are just a dream or only happen near the end.
The rating is so low not because the whole thing is bad but because the ending was questionable and the last 2 episodes after the actual ending (episode 22 wraps up the story) were completely unnecessary.
just read someones starting it again, read Andrew's comment, yeah its only been 2 eps forever
At this point I would rather just wait until it is fully subbed just to be safe, specially when the person who picked it back up was the same one who subbed 2 episodes in the span of 6 years ^^' but thank you for letting me know.
Even dramas with main leads that are NOT unknown are short dramas now. Sigh Please, bring back full length dramas. I do not like where this is going. More and more short dramas keep coming out and less and less full length dramas are airing. T T
