I mean, this is not a bad drama BUT there is a reason why the rating is not great. There are many reasons why but I can think about 2 main reasons:
1 - Lots of backstory and flashbacks but no real interaction between the main leads for most of the drama.
They first interact in episode 7 in a drama that has 10 episodes. For anyone who was able to watch this while it was airing, that meant watching this for almost a month before they were able to first see an interaction between the main leads. Even the slowest burn romances out there are jealous of this one. lol
(This might be a bit of a spoiler) 2 - I don’t know if I missed something but there was never any sort of explanation as to why these things kept happening around her.
Was she cursed? Maybe, guess we will never know. Leaving such an important part of the story out might be one of the main reasons why people were left disappointed.
The best mother-in-law I have seen in a short drama and one the best in all dramas I have watched. The main leads also have a great relationship.
My only complaint is that since the main leads are already in love from the first episode and are married early on, the plot ended up focusing most of the time on the villains and other secondary characters.
i love a good redemption arc but throwing it at the very end after the grandma has been so despicable... chief…
Exactly. If they were planning to do this they should have made her a little less despicable. It was not believable or realistic the way she changed so fast.
But the drama as a whole was flawed and cliché so I was not suprised they did something like this. A good drama to watch if you are looking for a light romantic comedy but there was nothing new about it to make it stand out. At times it even felt like a plot you would get from a 2010 kdrama, kind of nostalgic. ^^'
I think that's the exact vibe the writers were going for. Zombie comedy
True. I guess for people who don‘t like depressing stuff the deaths here were less hard to stomach. I have a very broad range of genres that I like. One day I will be watching a fluffy romance drama and the next horror or a super dark drama. I would say my personal preference is something that is well written, with good acting, good editing, good music, something that makes me want to watch the next episode.

Probably. I just prefer zombie content to be more thrilling and scary with small momements in between where they explore other themes like comedy, romance, friendship, ...
Here it felt like they added way too many characters and explored way too many subplots instead of trying to make something consistently interesting that I would want to watch every week. I watched the first few episodes and had to put it on-hold because I knew I was going to skip a lot of scenes and just wanted to wait for all episodes to be out to skim through it.
The second half was actually not as bad as the first one, but still not a good zombie drama by any means. This was on the same level as those intentionally silly American zombie movies you would watch 15-20 years ago.
This is not a good comedy nor a good thriller. They tried to be good at both genres and ended up being below average instead. Should have just chosen to do one or the other.
Watchable if you have nothing better to watch, I skipped a lot of scenes and almost dropped it several times.
I am not sure how I feel about the FL actress being only 15 years old…I know the character she plays is supposed…
There is no romance so...nothing inappropriate will happen. As long as they did not make her film for many hours a day, nothing wrong with her not being an adult yet.
This was a pretty obvious attempt to copy the 2022 drama Reset. A failed attempt I must say.
The plot, characters and even subs are nowhere near as good. I guess if you have nothing better to watch you might like this. If you like the concept but want something with a better execution, watch Reset instead, in case you haven’t yet.
The 'ugly' matter has actually been explained so many times here but I reckon you missed them.Su Chengcheng was…
You’re not wrong. Like I said, I might not have even kept watching if instead of Landy they had picked some unknown actress. But it is hard to ignore people calling someone attractive average or ugly, specially when most of the other characters being portrayed as more beautiful are not actually better looking than the female lead. ^^'

I know and I am glad they picked Landy but I could not just pretend I was not annoyed everytime anyone acted like she was not pleasing to look at. The interview scene in the first episode made me want to punch those guys. ^^'
Good but still prefer Hidden Love. This was 7 episodes longer which did not help. The longer they stretch a Chinese drama the higher the chance of dragging the plot.
Btw, seems like this brother and sister pair definitely like the same type - beautiful, financially struggling, messed up family situation/past - and both did a great job helping their love interest heal.
I found this to be a bit more dramatic and heavier compared to Hidden Love and skipped a few scenes here and there but overall it was a nice drama.
it's not that she is beautiful, but the director made a standard where she is seen as ugly.
My guess is you meant to say "its not that she is NOT beautiful..." and yes, that is exactly what the director did. Have seen it in other dramas. Glasses, bare face, pimples, messy hair, baggy plain clothes and suddenly a good looking person is "ugly" to everyone else but the viewers...and the male lead. ^^'

I did not miss those points, the thing is that there were severel moments when people acted like she looked below average just because she was wearing plain clothes, no makeup and acted less feminine than the regular woman. Even by the end of the drama the message was directed to regular looking people...but Landy Li is not your regular looking person. She is naturally beautiful, at least in my opinion.
This is not the only drama where I have seen this happen. They pick a good looking actress but everyone acts like they are average because they wear glasses, or baggy clothes, or have messy hair.
I liked the message of this drama but I think if they wanted this to be more relatable they should have chosen an actress that was actually average. Aside from not being as tall as some other actresses, Landy is conventionally beautiful.

2) they officially start dating by the end of episode 18 but the ML confesses his feelings for her several episodes before that
3) nope, the FL rejects him at first for reasons you will see but once they get together they never break up
4) YES....with a wedding and everything
