my first Thai drama and wow! I didn't expect much but this is just ridiculously bad. The characters are College…
Thai dramas are very different from Chinese and Korean dramas. I took some time to get into them and I remember not even liking the sound of the language until I got used to it.
If you have watched the Chinese version and watched your first Thai drama just because it was a remake of a drama you liked, then I am not surprised you feel so negatively about this one.
I recommend watching a good Thai drama that has an original plot you have never watched. That way you will have no expectations and might find yourself enjoying it.
If there is a particular genre or trope you like, I might be able to recommend you a Thai drama that fits your taste.
I watched the Chinese version when it aired and since it has been a few years I can analyze this one without directly comparing it to the original.
I am more inclined to like the original but that is because overall I like Chinese dramas over Thai dramas. But from a neutral point of view, I dont think one was better than the other, they were just different.
And I definitely dont recommend watching one right after watching the other or even watching it just because its a remake of a drama you really liked. If you do that, it will be really hard not to compare them and you will most likely see the first one you watched as the better one.
Watch for the fluff and when you dont know what to watch next.
In terms of plot and character writing, this is quite lacking. I feel like the writers did not know exactly what they wanted to do. They had this idea of a male lead suffering from aphasia and female lead that made ice cream that could bring him comfort. But that is about it. After that they did not know what to do with the story.
So the idea was not bad, but the execution was where they failed miserably.
I watched it with my mother and we both loved it but my mother was kind of disappointed at the way it ended. For me, the most important stuff was adressed and I have watched endings that are way more confusing and leave a bunch of questions, but still, a second season would be nice.
At this point tho, I dont think it will happen. It has been 5 years and there is nothing indicating there will be a second season. :(
Like, this was about as long as a movie, so why spend so much time with such frustrating plot lines? I finished it just because it was so short. It started well but went in a direction that I am not only familiar with but also hate.
When I watch short dramas I am looking for some sweet romance, funny scenes, something refreshing, not THIS. Sigh
Although a lot of people are bashing this drama in the comments, I actually really enjoyed it. Sure, it had its flaws, but I am not going over that as I enjoyed the drama for what it was.
I am starting to think Zhao Lu Si is a criteria I must consider when picking a drama from now on. I do not think I have ever dropped any of her dramas and most of them I found entertaining.
Although this is not on the same level as The Romance of Tiger and Rose, it was still entertaining enough. I think watching it while it aired also played a part. It is easier to get bored and find flaws when I binge-watch compared to when I watch only a few episodes each week.
They clicked becauze they both been in another show together Military Arsenal Academy.
I have already watched that drama when it aired, in 2019. I did not remember the ML here was also there. I remembered the FL here being the FL in MAA together with Xu Kai, but did not remember the supporting characters since it has been 2 years already.
I imagine that having previously worked together and having a good relationship off screen makes their job easier.
Once Li Man showed up the enjoyment I had from the drama gradually went down, and after having the main leads…
How far did you watch? If you want I can give you a short summary of what happens in the episodes you did not watch just so you dont have that feeling of leaving something unfinished.
I hate dropping dramas. When a drama is really boring or frustrating me I will skip to the last episode just to get some closure.
Once Li Man showed up the enjoyment I had from the drama gradually went down, and after having the main leads…
No, he did not. Omg, if he did I would not even bother finishing the drama. But he kept leaving his wife at home and meeting alone with Li Man, creating a bunch of misunderstandings, which was exactly what Li Man wanted. He also stood up for her several times in front of his wife and other people. He was just a complete idiot that could not see what a snake she was until almost the ending and when it was almost too late.
the other actor is Zhang Han. I mentioned this in my comment earlier. Both keep doing same type of shit. Bossy…
Yeah. Out of all the Chinese dramas I watch only a few make me feel like re-watching. Most of them always have annoying characters and the plot drags for longer than it needs.

Yeah. I think what ruined this drama was the introduction of Li Man. Her character was not necessary. Not all exes have to come back. She could just be someone who existed in his past to create a reason for him to not accept female employees. I would rather have this drama be 24 episodes long instead and Li Man not being in the picture and the male lead not turning into a complete idiot.
I would rather have a romance develop from mutual understanding and the main leads spending time together than having these cliché conflicts, separation and then getting back together. I have watched plenty of that since I first started watching dramas back in 2010. I am kind of tired of this recipe.
It is not completely bad but the story kind of went downhill once they introduced a certain character and turned…
Once Li Man showed up the enjoyment I had from the drama gradually went down, and after having the main leads be separated for about 10 episodes, the least I expected was for an ending where we saw the reactions of the parents, the birth of the baby, maybe another wedding, something to make up for all the frustration of the previous episodes, but no.
So yeah, I liked some things about the drama but as a whole it is not a drama I enjoyed enough to bother watching again.
P.S. - Although this is a drama from 2021 and with programming as the theme, all the tropes and clichés, specially after Li Man showed up, made me feel like I was watching a drama from 2010.
It is not completely bad but the story kind of went downhill once they introduced a certain character and turned the male lead into a complete idiot. Also, after 10 episodes or so of having to deal with all the bs, I expected more from the ending.
so what would you recommend as good romance story? 🤔🤔
Any story where the male lead actually shows some respect for the female lead.
I have watched quite a lot of lakorns in recent years where the writers gave us decent male leads. Some I can think about are Jao Sao Jum Yorm, Marn Bang Jai, Keun Ruk Salub Chata, Kao Waan Hai Noo Pen Sai Lub, Mee Piang Rak, ...
These are not necessarily the best romances, but definitely some of the ones where the male lead is not a complete jerk. There are a lot more but I would have to go through hundreds of completed dramas to fish them. XD
If you like a specific genre or kind of character, maybe I can recommend something that fits your taste.

Well, if you are ok with skipping around once it gets boring, I think it’s worth watching for the main leads and their romance.
