Friendly advice from a fellow drama watcher - just skip to the last episode. Anything relevant happens there (spoiler:…
Yeah, I did the same. I had watched until ep 29 and yesterday I just went through the rest of the episodes and it took me like 1 hour to watch 11 episodes.
I do not need subs so don’t know how they are. Is it that bad? If so what a big shame as that script is very…
They are definitely bad. They dont make much sense and sometimes are not even synchronized with what is being said. I could not get past the first 5 minutes of the 1st episode. Hopefully they will fix the subs later.
I'm on ep23 and mostly know how the rest plays out, so can't decide if I wanna even bother finishing it...as much…
Friendly advice from a fellow drama watcher - just skip to the last episode. Anything relevant happens there (spoiler: wedding, child, couples being together).
I am sure there is some other drama out there that is more worthy of your time.
This could have been good and I remember slightly liking it in the beginning. Had they focused solely on the hotel management and the romance between the main leads and I might have liked it but they added way too many characters I could not care less about, focused on the melodramatic part and did not really punish bad behavior.
If this drama was a child and the writer its parent, then the end result would be a spoiled brat that does not have to take responsibility for anything he/she does.
Its 2021, not 2010. This kind of script full of flaws is not so easily forgiven anymore. I dont really recommend it unless you have nothing else to watch, like nothing, not even a movie or a short web drama...then I guess you can waste your time on this one.
How bad are the subs? I really want to watch this after Eternal Love. Oh dear.....
They dont make any sense and some are not even syncronized with what they are saying. It feels like they threw the original text on google translator and then just did ctrl+c, ctrl+v.
I really hope they conclude that storyline between the evil emperor and their child. TBH I am ready for this to…
Yeah. I watched S2 for the plot which I liked to some degree but by S3 I was only watching because of the main couple and the only reason I would watch a 4th season would be for them too since at this point the plot feels old.
I was going to watch this even after knowing how it ends....but the subs are where I draw the line.
Like seriously mgtv, with so many international fans watching on YouTube and with the ad revenue you get you could easily hire someone to translate these dramas. Like, you could hire several people and still not be at a loss. Sigh
Although I dont expect this to get subbed because of all the controversies, let me know if it does end up getting subbed. I would still like to give it a chance.
I honestly thought I would have liked it more than I actually did. There is something about the script that bothers me.
I felt like there was a lot going on and there were a few holes here and there. Like, the bracelet is the most obvious one. It was created to stop a certain thing from happening (trying not to spoil it) but the several times it fell or was taken from her, that problem did not happen even tho she was not wearing it. Almost like the writer forgot about the reason the bracelet was needed to begin with.
Also, there were some clichés and behaviors that made it feel like the drama is older, like from 2015. Maybe the plot was written for some time. It does not feel fresh.
And the ending was underwhelming and I felt like they just wanted to wrap up things. I wish they had given more thought to the ending.
With that said, I did enjoy this drama to a certain degree, just not as much as I thought I would. When I read the summary I thought this would be my cup of tea, but it was not as exciting as I expected.
So, its not a bad drama, but it is not amazing either. I still recommend it if you are not sure what to watch next and like time-travel.
is the second half of the drama better then the first half in your opinion? bc if it gets even worse i dont think…
I also liked his little revenge. She deserved it and he did not really overdo it. I also like couples that have a cat and mouse relationship. I would say my preference is someone that can be kind of cold until he falls in love and then becomes sweet but at the same time keeps bugging her and creating some comic relief for us viewers. Plus, a little fighting is healthy, creates intimacy and promotes communication. By fighting, I mean like fighting over who ate the last piece of the cake or who hid the remote kind of thing, not the jealous and controlling, no trust, no respect, violent kind of fighting.
Although I first started this journey with anime, jdramas are actually the Asian dramas I watch the least. Why? Mostly because of the over the top acting and weird plots.
Obviously this one is pretty weird too, BUT I actually enjoyed it. It touched on very real and very serious subjects. Episode 4 was really hard to watch because we all know that eminent tragedy could have been avoided. And the last episode also pulled at my heartstrings.
I just wish this was longer. I feel like they could have added a few more clients and give more details about the background of the other characters.

Really? I thought since you were not that into the drama the second half would not really get your interest since the main leads spend less time together and some subplots get the focus. I would not say that the second half was worse, just 2 or 3 episodes near the end that I pretty much skipped through the whole thing. XD For me, this drama was mainly watchable because of the main couple. I think its biggest fault is having way too many supporting characters and giving them too much screen time.

Well, when he gets his memory back there is less romantic moments between them and it takes some episodes for them to get together so, I think the first half was better. If you are really not getting into it, you might as well skip to the last episode just to see how it ends. I have done that with several dramas.
It's not surprising Lin Gengxin is picky these days. After the debacle that was Princess Agents, who can blame…
Oh Princess Agents, dont make me think about it. I still cannot get over that ending. Sigh
I am going to start this one today and watch it slowly as I find with these kind of long dramas I tend to get bored if I try to binge-watch. Plus, it seems like it would be my cup of tea.
Upto 30 only episode is available there is 2 episode left. So how do you know female will die
Episodes 31 and 32 have already come out, they just arent subbed. Btw, your comment is a HUGE spoiler, so please edit the comment and check the spoiler box.
*rolls eyes* this is originally a drama about Emperor WuZong aka Li Yan but they changed the name cuz of censorship…
Sigh
I never meant to say that I was more experienced or anything, just making it clear that I have watched thousands of dramas so it is normal that I am more picky compared to someone who started watching dramas yesterday.
I dont know your age, so you saying you started to watch dramas when you were 5 does not tell me a lot. You could be 15 or younger and in that case it would have been less than a decade since you started watching dramas.
Anyway, my point was that it is pretty obvious you are very defensive about this drama and think it was perfect. But just because you think the drama has no flaws does not mean you need to convince anyone else of that.
So, as I have said a few times already, there is no point in continuing this discussion. I stated my opinion, but you keep being passive-aggressive on me just because I am not "saying what you want to hear".
If you liked the drama so much, great, give it a 10, re-watch it how many times you want, Im not stopping you. But I will maintain my opinion that the plot has flaws and an average rating of 8 is good enough.
P.S. - I wont be replying anymore otherwise this discussion will never end. Hope you have a good time in your drama watching journey and try to be more accepting of other people’s opinions even if you dont agree with them. We all like different things.

If you put on your favorite t-shirt and there is a bit of ketchup on it will you pay attention to the t-shirt and think "whatever, I love this t-shirt so I am going out with it" or will you look at the dirty part and think "damn, thats a shame, I really wanted to wear this"?
For me that is what happened to the plot, I wanted to like it but I could not ignore its flaws.
Plus, the way Yan Zhi’s character was written is technically a part of the plot and I said I liked her character, so its not like I did not see any positive things in the plot. I just dont have to like everything you liked, does not mean I am "blind to the good stuff", it is called personal preference.
Anyway, I went ahead and checked your profile and you have watched 114 dramas, I have watched 1,554, probably way more since I started watching dramas about 12 years ago and only joined MDL in 2017. So it is expected that having watched more dramas and for a longer period of time I am more picky with dramas. What you consider an amazing drama I could consider just a good drama or average since I have watched 10x more dramas.
Again, another comparison, if you have your favorite dessert only once in a while you will always think its amazing, but if you started having it every week for the past 12 years you would get used to the flavor of it and it would not feel as special anymore.
I hope we can finish the discussion here since it is not going anywhere. You thought the plot was perfect, I thought it could have been better. So we will never reach an agreement on this. Let’s just respect each other’s opinions and personal preferences and leave it at that.
Thank you. I follow Lakorn Galaxy. This is 12 episodes long so Im not risking it until it is fully subbed since it has taken years to get 5 episodes out.
I am unable to enjoy a drama that does not have proper subs. Its ok to have a mistake here and there, but auto-translations are a BIG NO for me.
I will wait. Maybe Viki or a fansub will pick this drama in the future and give it proper subs.
I am sure there is some other drama out there that is more worthy of your time.
