Arrogant doesn't mean awkward and aloof doesn't mean expressionless. The awkwardness in romantic scenes is so much sometimes I've had to look away. For real.
"ok but not great" is a bit vague. I personally think she's done good so far. Not average, not great. Would you mind giving examples as to what details you've seen in LDW's acting that I've missed, specially opposed to JBA?

It's actually LDW whose acting is questionable here. JBA seems to be doing her best. When he cried, I actually had to hold back laughter. Which is strange because he was really convincing in Strangers From Hell.
It's funny. When the main couple look at each other, you can see the passion and happiness in her eyes, but the feeling his face gives is more like "hmm, you're doing your dialogs very well, now for next scene..." with a smile. Which is why the chemistry is weak and most of the people care more about the other couples and brotherly love than the main romance.

Ohh, Kim Myung Min and Kim Bum? This is gonna be interesting.

Neither, imo. But since the romance in this is slightly less of a focus, it has less effect on the experience.

I've seen a lot of people asking Song Ji Yang to play Xie Lian. Now I can't get it out of my head lol

Whoever the cast, I just hope they match the characters perfectly and have great chemistry. It's what this gem of a story deserves.

The writer who milks a good idea and gets a whole drama with almost no plot out of it.

Interesting casting

Romance in these type of dramas usually ruins it. Forced romance between leads only because they're good looking woud be even worse.

As many as there are deep and great Korean dramas, there are pointless and ridiculous Korean movies.
At least OST and acting was good. Specially the two leads were spot on.

There are great adaptations like Kingdom and there are deep manhwas like Dr. Frost and Annarasumanara.

Sounds pretty shallow

A tad bit slow moving, yet somehow it's not boring. Maybe it's the characters filling in the emptiness, specially her.

Now THAT's a perfect way to use a perfect superpower. This is starting off real good!
