I think it was a solid enough show. The couples were cute enough and I adored Aylin and Ongsa with every fibre of my being, but I do feel like it was a little clunky in how it tried to explore certain issues, like Aylin's whole deal.

I also feel like it suffered a little from being the first full length GL from GMMTV. It seemed clear they didn't want to get too messy or tackle things too hard, lest they put off the audience. Which is a bit sad because I would adore some messy lesbians please (Pluto and Us will hopefully deliver on that front). That said, I want this to be wildly popular so that more GL are made. Because the more that are made, the more variety we'll get. BL didn't start off with a ton of variety either.

It was enjoyable fluff for the most part, and that has its place for sure. Also I'm still chuffed that the little ship that could from Bad Buddy (the only ship I cared about, if I'm honest) spawned Milk and Love an entire GL of their own. Good for them.

I've said it before, though - Jojo is good at getting good performances out of actors. I have faith that he'll do so again. I'm mostly weirded out by him working with FK again so soon.

This is one of my most anticipated dramas from the part 2 lineup.

I sort of get it - for a lot of people Not Me was the first intro to OffGun, Puppy Honey or whatever it was doesn't even register.

Not Me was definitely my first OffGun show, but I'm odd in that their chemistry didn't fire for me there. Like, at all. The romance took a backseat to everything else for me, and unlike a lot of other BLs, if I had been watching just for that I would have stopped. Thankfully Not Me was dense with plot, too (not that a BL can't have both but hopefully you know what I mean. I wasn't being held on chemistry). And it was also my first exposure to Gun Atthaphan as an actor and I will be forever grateful about that. He's great.

Now, Cooking Crush? Adorable. I still don't know if I buy into the lauded OffGun thing, but I liked their chemistry in that one much better than Not Me. They seemed way more natural and easy, imo. And I've never ever found Off so charming and attractive as I did in CC, lol.

I don't know if I will watch this one as it airs or not, but if and when I do get around to watching, I hope I can take it as it is. Sometimes I wonder if that's part of the problem with the fixed pair thing - the typecasting into certain roles or dynamics, both by the directors/producers and by the fans. It gets harder and harder to take each new show as it comes when it's the same two faces.

I won't lie, I'd have been in from the second that Wandee made fun of Kao's eyebrows. :D

But also, this was a good first ep. Pod is so pretty and smiles so damn much I just knew Ter would turn out to be kind of assy, lol, and I'm behind Wandee one hundred percent - he's young, he's good looking, and if he's gonna react to Ter's assyness by hopping into bed with someone it should be someone as hot as Yoyak.

Also I approve of leaving The Eclipse on in the background while getting it on, lol.

All in all, a really fun start!

If it helps, I'm entirely sure that this show probably intends to explore and debunk that idea. I definitely didn't get the impression that Dr. Ter was supposed to be right in saying that, or that there really was anything wrong with Wandee even if he is.

I mean yes, that's why I said that I will not bother coming back if people get to be too much? Being an adult doesn't mean I have to put myself though things that annoy me, especially not when it's just a show.

Okay, I want to preface this by saying I was really mad about this myself originally so I totally see where you're coming from. Like, I really, really do.

But at the same time I don't think that the narrative is actually condemning Boston. I know it's tempting to look at it that way because all of these people are acting like Boston is wrong and a lot of it seems to center on how he has sex (and the whole "of course you'd SA someone" thing which...was a lot but is also how a TON of people actually think).

But in the end no one is actually condemning Boston for his lifestyle. Mew isn't not forgiving him because he sleeps around, he's not forgiving him because he methodically went out of his way to sleep with someone that as far as he was aware was taken (imo it's a grey area since Mew asked to go back to the initial stages but also, Boston knew damn well that no one would like what he was doing. He just didn't care at the time because he wanted what he wanted and nothing else mattered) and then doubled down on it. Nick flat out told him to keep on being his fabulous self and to stop trying to fit himself into the mold that Nick wanted. Nick is the type who wants monogamy. Boston is not. And we saw what it looks like when someone tries to be someone they're not with Nick early on. Yes it sucks that Boston couldn't be with him but they just weren't compatible, they'd only wind up hurting each other. They even have my favorite bean Sand telling Nick that there are all kinds of relationships out there.

And I don't see his ending as particularly depressing either. Sure he lost at least Mew as a friend but is that a bad thing, really? When Mew has already said he's the type to carry grudges and bring shit up and he clearly thinks less of Boston due to his lifestyle? He lost Nick but he and Nick are fundamentally different and would not make each other happy anyway since one of them would have been forced into a mold they just didn't fit to be with the other. And as for Chueam and Ray...well I think Chueam actually stays in contact with him and in the novel I've heard Ray and Sand go see him in NYC, but I'm not sure that's a big loss if they don't, either. Neither of them were particularly good friends to him, nor was he to them.

Boston is young and still figuring himself out, too. I think he might not even be aware that he will do best in an open relationship, or if he is, he sure doesn't know how to navigate it yet. Telling Nick "you have to put up with it because this is how I am" is not navigating that sort of lifestyle, it's being a selfish tit. I love Boston but his default mode is "I'm gonna get mine," and he learned the hard way that that burns bridges he might not want burnt. And now he knows better, and I hope he goes to NY and figures out the kind of lifestyle that works for him, WITH communication and consideration on both sides.

It's tempting to think that the show is condoning the way he gets constantly slut shamed, but I think of it more as...presenting a story, and letting people make up their own minds. In the end what bothered me wasn't so much anything that I thought the show was trying to portray as "right" but the way that people reacted to it. And not just with Boston.

I think that the show was just giving us a story. It's up to us how we see it and react to it. I don't really think that anyone was being presented as "right" so much as they were being presented as a bunch of dumb 20-somethings still trying to figure shit out and not always doing it well.

I came to like Ray a lot...but that was in spite of everyone else tbh. People constantly excusing him for everything he ever did wrong and blaming everyone else every time he acted like a little asshole worked my nerves and made me harsher on him than I might otherwise have been. Once I backed away from other people's opinions and rewatched on my own I liked him a lot more.

But that was OF, this is a new show, and I want both of their characters to be different from what they've played before, please. Honestly I feel that part of the problem with having set cps is that they tend to wind up playing the same roles/dynamic over and over again, and I'm not into that. I'd rather have them do something utterly different and fail than do the same old thing every time.

Oh I learned my lesson with Only Friends lol. People start getting dumb and I am out and will just enjoy things on my own (not just here, everywhere was nuts about OF and I felt like I was watching a different show from most).

Jojo is good at pulling performances out of actors, so I'm no that worried. And I always feel like the shows Joong and Dunk were given were kind of crap, even if I had some fun with the shows. I'm optimistic. :D

I don't see Sand in Kant at all and I really hope that there isn't because people were freaking *weird* about that dude. I've never seen someone hated so much while being mostly harmless.

People adored Yok and Ray. They want to see more.

I personally am not one of those people, so I hope that they are not very like. But people will do what they do.

Personally I just want First to not be the one immediately in love. Come on, give me a flirty little manipulator creating a honey trap for the himbo. I've been mostly good this year.

I'll be frank though. So often when this sort of thing starts it doesn't stop. This show looks like fun and I want to have fun with it, not come here to a million whiny people complaining about an actor over and over and over and over again.

And the fact that so many comments are already like this...does not bode well. Now I am an adult and I can and will just not come here, but it will be sad because some of the best times I've had with these shows have been on MDL.

My one wish is that Kant doesn't turn into a hot pining mess three seconds into the show. Let him be messy and kind of a dick and focused on his goal and straight up using Bison to get at it, please. Feelings can come in later, after he's already done damage. I know that First does good pining but I'm in the mood for something different. I do NOT see the comparisons people keep making between them and Sand and Ray, though. To me the vibe is completely different.

As for the other two, I love the whole Taming of the Shrew / 10 Things I Hate About You thing so I am excited. I am not really worried about them not being able to pull it off - I think that they have decent chemistry and do good kisses, I just think that they have been given lackluster scripts. Hopefully they shine here. At any rate it will be fun to see them acting outside of their "usual" roles.

I expect we won't be getting this until the last part of the year at the earliest, but I do hope it's good.

I don't think that Dunk is that bad of an actor, I do think that it's a combo of direction and the roles he's getting. I can't judge him too harshly when both of the things I've seen him in have had very similar characters. This one though - this one looks like he's having a lot of fun and I think he did well in the trailer. Furthermore Jojo is good at getting a good performance out of his cast, so I'm hoping this will actually show what both he and Joong can do (because frankly I think both of them have suffered from the bad script and lackluster direction thing)

I use Windscribe. I pay though, but there is a free version, it's just limited on locations and how long you can use it.

Ongsa is the absolute best thing. I adore her. Sun is a sweetheart. Aylin is my favorite little weirdo. And I didn't know Ciize was in this for some reason and I was so happy to see her. :D

That wasn't heroic. That was an act of petty jealousy and exposing the teacher or not (which if you ask me wasn't even on his radar he wanted to hurt Non), it completely ignores the fact that the student being taken advantage of was right there in the frame. There was nothing heroic about that.
