Sageuk aren't completely historically accurate, there will always be an element of fiction because it is a drama; which is why they're categorised as historical drama lit. sageuk.
This drama is based on/inspired by Korean history and mythology; so it is a sageuk.
Categorising a historical drama as true or not, doesn't make sense because the only time it wouldn't be considered a sageuk is when it is entirely historically accurate, then it would be a docuseries/documentary.
the best the about this drama is the acting 10/10! it's quite a realistic show but bcz of that it can be dragging. I think the Jordan part made it seem like a different show it was kinda like a movie.
but god I wouldn't survive a korean office internship.. I could never be Young gi or Suk Yool oooh I'd cause a havoc! lol
the ones I like are a bit on the older longer side with a strong female lead.

for me it was watchable, not necessarily boring, just not satisfying for me. it had a lot of potential but something definitely happened during filming, turns out the female lead actress got injured at that time.
she went to the palace to protect him not the other way round.
male lead didn't want her to serve in the palace because (historically) once a girl (no matter her age) starts serving, she becomes the king's woman, even if he doesn't sleep with her she can't get married.
