The best version of all the dramas about Lee Bang Won, but the love story of the two main characters should have…
I'm so glad they didn't, that would have made the drama worse, it didn't make sense for their characters at all or the story. This wasn't a romance it was a political thriller, really. Those two were fated for tragedy from the beginning. He is bang won for god's sake, there are no real happy endings for him.

I've heard Six Flying Dragons is fabulous (with lots of politics). Haven't seen it, but seen people rave about…
OMG, six flying dragons changed me as a person. Back when historicals were 20+ eps and really told a story. Yoo Ah In was a force of nature and you could see why he won daesang for that role, he is the best bang won to ever grace the screen. If you loved NIF you will love 6FD I hope you can find it in your country soon!

Y'allll that first ep was so solid, the last 10 mins got me totally hooked. NGL I've never really seen the appeal…
Oh and I like that you can see how the soul swap will be problematic and actually be an important part of the story and the way the plot unfolds, versus Moon River where it was kinda pointless (I liked that drama on the whole just didn't think the body swap added anything).

I wished they would have chosen another actor for the ML who looks more mature and is more experienced.Moon Sang…
He was really good in under the king's umbrella, he came out of nowhere and kinda stole the show IMO. I think this is his element and he'll do a great job.

Age Gap? She’s only 30 and he’s 26, nothing to mention. Plus based on this episode 1, he should be baby faced…
I acutally think it adds to their pairing because he has such a higher status that him being kinda a softy and a bit younger than her puts them on even footing. He totally is the type to fall for a noona, she only seems a couple years older than him at most.

Finally. It's out! Was so excited to hear Nam Ji hyun had been. cast and with MSM, to boot. She's in a romcom…
Yeah I'm intrigued by the minister's son, I was so confused that him and the niece got a classic k drama meet cute cause I assumed he was a rake, so it was a nice twist to find out he set that whole thing up for some sort of scheme. I really hope he doesn't fall for Eun Jo too. I'm tired of love triangles for real.

So we have another historical body-swap frame after 'Moon River.' I'm not lying, I couldn’t finish it even with…
TBH I've only seen him in Under the Queen's Umbrella and he was great. He seems perfect for the role already after just watching ep 1, and it's a totally diff character to UQU, I guess historicals are his element.

Y'allll that first ep was so solid, the last 10 mins got me totally hooked. NGL I've never really seen the appeal of Nam Ji Hyun but she already won me over. Love her, love Eun Jo, Sang Min is back in his element, he hit all the perfect notes both comedy-wise and romance-wise as the snooty but thoughtful prince, their chemistry is great, and I really enjoy the FL being the strong fighter and the ML being the soft fussy one. It makes them seem more like peers despite their statuses being so different. Like this girl can hold her own. And I like that you can see why he is already entranced with her, I have a crush on her myself already, and I totally swooned when he smirked and said he was going to catch her, not realizing he was already hot on her trail as Gil Dong. Really great set up of the characters, the plot conflict, and romance. Super excited for ep 2.

seems a little bit like Moon River
Moon River writer didn't incorporate the body swap enough into the plot, it was kinda just a gimmick in the end, so I'm interested to see if they do a better job in this drama.

I had this drama in my TWL since a long time ago. I am in episode 6 and sadly I am just dropping it. Can't stand…
The FL was miscast. Her and the ML clearly had fantastic chemistry, but she had to contort herself to be anything but the gorgeous, feminine model she was IRL, and the only way she could think to do it was to pull weird faces and saunter around, I guess. I'll always be salty for them not casting an actress that was actually willing to put on muscle/weight and be boyish in a natural way.

I do think the show gets better from where you're at, that's when it really starts getting good IMO.

No he is not. It's a story about three protagonists, each with their own distinct storyline.
Girl, just because you're a fan of his you can't make up stuff. It is very clear the two are the main leads and have a loveline together, so he will be considered a second lead.

I trust he's popular but I've literally never heard of Lomon and I watch a lot of dramas. Moon Sang Min is very popular right now, too. It's not about who is popular amongst fangirls, the billing order is negotiated by the agencies.

Review Moon River
Man I disagree with so much of this review. People lose a spouse and find love again all the time, and often it helps them finally move fully through their grief of the loss. Its a naive and immature argument to say that he didn't love the crown princess because he fell in love again, especially after five years, that is a very long time.

The entire plot was building towards overthrowing the Left Minister, the bird plotline was what we call a subplot, and it would have been ridiculous for them to stretch that entire subplot to the end, there wasn't enough story in that subplot for a whole series. It's much more interesting to slowly reveal more and more layers of the minister's plans. It's kinda storytelling 101 to have the protagonist think he is going to win, only to have a big setback and find out there is more to the villian's plan than he realized.

Also they said many times throughout the show that Han Cheol's entire goal was to take everything away from the King and Queen Dowager who were responsible for poisoning the Queen. And they showed us over and over and over again that the reason he lost the queen in the first place was because he did not have enough power to protect her, so his goal was for there to be no one more powerful than him, he said this many times himself. At the beginning of the show he was the most powerful man in the country since he had the king under his thumb, but in that society political power could shift easily, and he needed to make sure that he controlled not only the king and the crown prince, but also the crown prince's heir. This way he could ensure that once the CP became king he could use the next crown prince as a way to control him, just like he did with his father. The only way to ensure that would be for the next heir to be his grandson. At that point no one would be able to have more influence than him, and he could continue to blackmail and manipulate the king. So it actually was made very clear many times throughout the show if you were paying attention.

The show wasn't perfect and did have issues but these criticisms just aren't strong or based in the reality of the show.

Title Moon River
This drama was such a poignant exploration of the price of loving someone. Not just romantic love, but love for a child, love for a parent, love for a brother, love for a friend. How love can create miracles but also destroy you, and regardless asks everything from you.

I've been burned so many times from dramas where the plot unravels and descends into chaos by the end that I forget some writers actually have a coherent and full story to tell. By the end every thread comes together, every character arc closes, and the weight of it all really hits you. Every single character/relationship and plot arc tied in perfectly with the overall theme, and that is really good storytelling, objectively, even if the execution isn't always perfect.

Jin Goo was a standout to me, he was cold and calculating in a way that was truly chilling at times, but there were always these flashes of something deep and sad in his eyes that hinted he was more than a power hungry sociopath villain that made me intrigued by him from the first episode. Finding out that he, too, was powerless in the face of love just like everyone else was a brilliant twist.

And the Grand Prince Lee Shin Young was the other standout. SO refreshing to have royal brothers who are not rivals fighting for the throne or the same woman. He carried the entire second loveline on his shoulders and made me so invested in that couple making it in the end. And his growth over the course of the series was really beautifully handled.

The rating for this is way too low, this is a show that rewards patience and letting a story unfold. I am so glad to have seen it.

OK Lee Shin Young was a total standout in Moon River, the man literally carried an entire romance plot on his own, despite a 2FL that should have been so unlikable he made me root for the couple so hard, so happy he is getting a lead role.

Title Moon River Spoiler
Finally started watching this. First off, Kang Tae Oh does not disappoint. Kim Se Jeong was the ideal love interest.…
So you kinda get used to her and I actually think the way she acts makes sense for the character. Also the actor who plays the 2ML is really compelling and pretty much carries the entire loveline on his shoulders and makes you like her just because he likes her so much.
