Se Gye really just wants to love someone, doesn't he? He was surrounded by snakes and sociopaths his whole life that weren't safe to love, but gawd he fell in love with Seo Ri so easily and now all he wants is to be the one who gets to love her forever.
Is Mo Tae Hee a little off the rails? She is a little too fixated on Cha Se Gye...
Yeep. Kinda disappointed cause that actress was maybe my favorite part about perfect crown. I can't hate her cause of that. You can tell she is used to getting her way tho, she came in all cocky at first but now that her shenanigans are backfiring she's losing it.
I would love it if instead they became friends. Seori doesn't really have any female friends she can be close to rn.
Do we know yet what happened to the original soul belonging to the body she's inhabitanting? Cause I think that's…
The show has emphasized from the start the FL going through a journey of re-discovering joy again through a second chance at life, and any reference to the original soul has only been used to strengthen the FLs resolve to re-connect to her own true self. I haven't seen any narrative foreshadowing of them suddenly swapping back, it just wouldn't make sense with its current trajectory. But I have been burned before. And I am like you, if they start swapping souls I'm out cause that would make the plot so messy and disjointed. So I REALLY hope they don't go this route.
WHY DIDNT HEONAMJUN DO MANY MORE ROMCOMS BEFORE. WE NEEEEED MOREEEEEE OF HIM in RomanCE!!!!
It's wild to remember how before this drama started there were SO many people complaining that he was cast, saying he wasn't charismatic enough or talented enough or handsome enough to be a lead. JUSTICE FOR NAMJOON
I have never seen any ML so clingy and so obsessed with FL before. Like Cha Segye is on another level. The way…
Neither of them has met anyone as stubborn as they are before. The harder he clings the more determined she is to push him away, the more she pushes him away the more determined he is to cling to her. But in the end, love (aka Cha Segye) always wins out.
Wait is sooooo hard after each episode JUST GIVE ALL EPISODES TO ME (╯°□°)╯
As the episode goes on even while I'm enjoying it so much I get more and more anxious thinking omg the ep is almost over, omg I almost will have to wait until tomorrow (or next week T.T) for the next one.
Other Male leads: "Me jealous? Nah I would never.." *in denialCha Se Gye: "Let me be clear I'm the…
I love that he didn't frame it as "Don't you dare look at another man you whore " but more like "I am not mature enough to handle you liking anyone else so please don't make me suffer"
I hope the second part of the show focuses more on the Joseon era. There are only 7 episodes left, but yet we…
I kinda want the joseon era to stay in the past. The show thrives when it focuses on this being SeoRi's current journey of rediscovery and rebirth, and while part of that is overcoming the tragedy of the past, it works best as a dark mirror for their current story versus the focus in any way.
MY EXACT THOUGHTS!! I really hope they dont make it melo by bringing her original soul back in. I would throw…
This would be one of the storylines that would tank the show. It doesn't at all align with the theme of "rebirth" they have been following from the very start. Once a show loses focus on the theme it inevitably unravels into mediocrity. PLEASE NO
Why he got me feelin all giddy? No matter how many time she's rejected him & tried to push him away, he comes…
This is what I like. Ever since he realized her first rejection was a front for actual feelings, every time she rejects him now he seems not as much hurt as he is disappointed like, "I didn't get through to her this time, either." The closer they get the stronger the wall she puts up in return, and he is perceptive enough to understand this pattern and be confident he was gonna break down the final boss wall eventually.
I'm so nervous about this show, I do not want it to be ruined by the writers. I just hope they finish the show…
I know. Every time there is some angst I get knots in my stomach thinking "is this where the show starts to unravel into mediocrity?" I am still optimistic, but the dynamite interactions between these two are the bread and butter and absolute core of the show, and it will not survive even one week, heck even on episode, of them being separated by some silly misunderstanding or noble idiocy or whatever else. PLEASE SHOW PLEASE DONT LET US DOWN
Something that keeps me feeling optimistic about this show is that so far all of the angst isn't caused by outside pressures or situations, but instead by meaningful character motivations and inner conflicts. Her former life was riddled with people exploiting love as a deadly weapon, and his was devoid of anyone who was genuine or truly on his side, and that is what has been driving their back and forth, push and pull. But each period of conflict has been followed by moments of vulnerability and them ending up genuinely closer and understanding each other a little better. so it feels like we are going on a journey with them rather than going through pointless angst for drama's sake alone.
This comment section is absolutely un-HINGED. Like.. mental health levels of unhinged.
Like most things in life this it not black and white. This isn't just my poor oppa did nothing wrong and is the victim in all this, and it also isn't this monster drove an innocent young woman to suicide and should be exiled for life. It is impossible to ever really know all the subtle details of what happened between them, cause they both clearly had issues. And if the conversation and voice note was fake then that does very much change the overall narrative.
Regardless, I can't view him in the same way knowing he was crossing romantic lines with a girl that young even if nothing illegal technically happened. I lose respect for anyone who pursues someone who is 18-30 when they are a decade or more older, because the power imbalance is gross no matter how you look at it, you can't just hand wave that away. And since it's been confirmed he was low key pursuing her when she was still underage that's even more gross. It is very different once the younger party is in their 30s, 40s, and beyond because that is when people truly settle into who they are as an adult.
He is not a great actor. Sorry but he's just not. He is not turning in layered and memorable performances in compelling psychological thrillers or arthouse dramas. His appeal and really only talent is as a romantic lead, and no one wants a romantic lead who acts in a gross way towards younger women IRL. So even without the most extreme allegations being true, what he has already confirmed takes away my desire to watch any romance drama with him again.
FINALLY. CMS is already a legend, the director is among the best working rn , and those two can't help but bring out a killer performance from the already quite talented CHW. And the story feels fascinating and a bit twisted and mysterious. Nothing else this year has me as excited as this one.
