the whole logic is more like Snowstorm Trope. If you watched the original serial, you know Zhan Zhao is the assistant of Bao Zheng, the head officer of Kai Feng, who is a very famous detective. In ZZA, Xiang Zhou could be seen as an isolated mansion, Zhan Zhao as the detective this time needs to collect enough evidence before the police show up and close the case.

The ending is perfect to me. The charisma of Zhan Zhao character was amazing. The fighting between Zhan Zhao and the villain was brutal but extremely beautiful. Will be the best fighting scene in Chinese dramas for a very long time.

No, the director of GOSF is Xu Jizhou, who's one of the best directors in China. The director of Overdo Yi Jun was only Xu Jizhou's assistant in GOSF, not the main and leader one.

She annoyed the hell out of me in the first half of the drama. She kept messing up Song Yan's life and kept saying she wanted to be with Song Yan again. When Song Yan finally decided to forgive her for dumping him 10 years ago, she then retreated and said its all over. And then she drunk herself to confess her love again because she's afraid that Song Yan might date her girlfriend, while Song Yan opened his heart and let her decide their future relationship, she retreated again. WTF?! She just kept hurting him again, again and again, which pains me.

i only enjoyed the firework part of this drama. The narrative of Meng family grossed me out and its also slow, boring and unnecessary.

Yang Yang's role James Wu is the gem of this movie. 15 mins acting but stole the whole show.

the main problem with this drama is that some important narratives of ML had been planted to the side role acted by Zhai Zi Lu, who belongs to the director's company. Yang Yang signed the contract when the scripts was more following the original story and characters, however the drama crew changed the scripts after he joined. Yang Yang only had 200 scenes in the whole drama, while Zhai Zi Lu has about 300 scenes, which is completely cheating compared to the original story.
