Right. It's a shame you tolerate the crimes of other celebs very easily though. Yoo Ah-in? Park Min-young? They're…
your question is based on missing my point entirely so i won't dignify it with an answer because i never say "drugs should be legal" i say it's idiotic to put someone in jail for 4yrs for smoking marijuana where it's legal. they didn't have it in their possession in sk, they weren't buying or selling in sk, yet they still got to prosecute them bc your nails and hair keep drug residue longer than blood and urine and someone reported you. it's unjust and unfair when you have abusers and r*pists walking the streets. and the punishments don't fit the crime. also what is addiction if you don't have a substance to abuse like? ofc addiction leads to you possesing and using otherwise you wouldn't have an addiction be serious rn.
what i'm saying is that no one cares for extenuating circumstances. no one cares for addicts or their illnesses. i believe that the safest place would be one where 1) you're educated properly on substance abuse without stigma or taboo 2) you're able to seek help without immediatelly being prosecuted. where do you think someone is more likely to seek rehab: somewhere where they won't end up in jail if they said "yes i have had x drug" or somewhere where a) they don't even have that facility available and b) if they do and go there they are put in jail for USING not even possession! USE.
but it's futile to talk with you as you'd be willing to kill all addicts as your safest world is one without them. we have legalized drinking yet people go and murder while drunk. is that place safe? where do you stand on that? or is that also splitting hairs.
i truly hope no one arounds you suffers these issues or has to come to you for help because from what i've seen you're not a good person and lack any empathy
Right. It's a shame you tolerate the crimes of other celebs very easily though. Yoo Ah-in? Park Min-young? They're…
it literally is. or i should specify DRUG addiction should not be criminalized. you're mentioning korean actors meaning we're talking abou korean law and within korean law addiction is very much criminalized. no other country prosecutes your for smoking pot in other countries where it's legal but skr does. no other country has such severe punishments for drug USE (USE, not SALES or DISTRIBUTION) while not having a single available and publicly available rehab facility that wouldn't bakrupt you. a former idol with addiction issues spoke on this publicly. they have very much villainized and criminalized addiction and have no empathy towards addicts. yoo ah in, who you mention, has a history of chronic illness and every drug he's used has been downers. he's had issues with insomnia and depression and chronic pain - he is living with bone tumors and was exempted from military service. no one uses drugs like propofol for morphium for fun. in any other country he'd be using medically perscribed marijuana for those issues. yet here he will be sent to jail. they are only harming themselves yet get a deeper sentance than abusers or r*pists. everyone involved in burning sun is already out back to their lives - they were r*ping and trafficking women. but a rapper got 4yrs in jail in skr for smoking marijuana in the US.
addiction is not a crime, addiction is an illness and you don't cure that illness by putting people in jail. you cure it by giving them help that they obviously need. you have a lot of stigma around addicts and go at them for "breaking the law". meanwhile if they were getting blackout drunk every night like they love to do in dramas you'd have different opinions and you'd be speaking differently.
I will not support bullies or rapists. They are equally bad. I know many people want to justify bullying, and will…
you cannot compare r*pe and bullying, especially when even if we look at all the public reports on celebrity "bullies" they ranged from 1) just not being friends with the "victim" 2) drawing p*nises on a whiteboard that somehow equalled SA??? (very weird) 3) getting into a spat over the phone and calling someone a b*tch 4) calling someone names 5) stealing money 6) continuous emotional and physical abuse. all of those have been bullying but not all of those are the same. this is a WIDE RANGE of things from literally existing as a kid or teenager to being a nasty abuser. yet everyone gets put in the same basket. so you think someone getting into a teenage spat or someone simply not being friendly to someone equal to r*pe - the most traumatic thing that could ever happen to a person? you equal something that awful to a teenage boy drawing p*nises on a whiteboard? for real? watch your language.
Someone needs to investigate the tendency of k bullies becoming celebrities and stop them from their fame.Completely…
unfortunately that's not how the world works. awful people can be good and successful at their jobs. we don't get happy resolutions like in dramas, there's no catharsis or closure. they won't suffer for the rest of their lives. the boy who was meanest to me in school got a scholarship to go study in the usa because he was still a good and talented swimmer. ultimately, the only way to "stop them" would be releasing private and often sealed and protected (as they are all minors and you risk re-victimization) information to the public. would you be willing to give up your privacy, privacy of your kids for this? does repentence not exist? food for thought.
at the end of the day, life is unfortunately unfair
such an excellent drama! i love a good time-travel plot and this was executed perfectly. still, i've seen people…
people seem to be confused about the 2022 timeline. so, let's just break that down. this is what we call a parallel reality. basically, i'd refer everyone to one of the movies they mentioned in the show as well: back to the future (ii to be precise). basically, the parallel realities diverge at specific points in time: first, it was whether or not marin and sojoon met, fell in love and got married. we have 1) they do not meet, they both die. and 2) they meet but do not get married? only marin dies, sojoon lives alone and advises his past self to marry marin.
now, after we passed them meeting, and we passed them getting together and being married, and we got to the point where sojoon disappeared, we were brought to a point where once again time converges and it's 3) sojoon woke up in 2022, marin died alone in 2019. now, what did sojoon have to do? come back BEFORE her death to CHANGE the future into a NEW timeline - 4) they both live, her father saves them. from this point on, we will never see the previous 2022 timeline, as this is now a parallel reality that stemmed from that change. he still gets the emails because she had already sent them. he will (re)read those same emails he originally read in 2022. but that bubble of his life is an alternate reality only he has experienced!
so yeah. i saw people call this a plothole or a mistake by the writer, but it isn't. it's "simple" or "basic" "rules" of time-travel! hope this helps anyone confused wondering "what about 2022?!" or expecting two of him to be alive, or for them to be hiding him in a basement to achieve the loop lol
in any time travel media you ultimately have inevitable things you can't change - canon events, as per spiderverse. one of those was the car crash - it always happened. but they could manipulate how and who died - and the father ultimately sacrificed himself.
another question was people wondering whether the father could always time-travel. sorry to disappoint you, but it was heavily implied that he got the power the day of the accident, how sojoon did. there was no reason to ever believe otherwise. sorry - he was just a deadbeat dad!
and i know everyone's main critique is that "all of this could have been solved if everyone just told the truth" but then we wouldn't have this drama! i believe each character was well-written and characterized in ways where i understood why they would lie, or keep secrets; they all thought they were doing their best. it was very realistic and very human.
such an excellent drama! i love a good time-travel plot and this was executed perfectly. still, i've seen people be left with questions so i'll try my best to answer in a spoiler-marked reply to this for anyone who may need it!
i know i'm a hypocrite bc i'm watching (i honestly just wanna see if dami's alive ngl) but... what is the purpose? they could have easily ended it in s1 had they not redone everything in the last 10 minutes of the finale, and now we're back where we started - except with a nasty character getting redemption for some godforsaken reason. what is the point? what else is there even to figure out? it's just going in unnecessary circles
How much of the plot is about cancer? I would watch but this ilness triggers me so idk
i feel like the other comments aren't really giving you the correct overview. i don't know the extent of your trigger so i'll try to be as detailed as possible.
the first episode shows the female lead at a very advanced stage of cancer, and she was given six months to live. when she finds them having an affair, her husband also mentions how he purposefully had her not go to the doctor for her stomach pain, essentially wanting her to get sicker. it's a big part of ep1.
after that, it is largely referenced again through flashbacks and she is shown as sick. i dare say it is mentioned or shown in majority of the episodes.
later, as the story has the concept of either living your fate or passing it to someone else, another character is diagnosed with cancer. she is shown having stomach pain and being weak. she is going throught treatment (off-camera, mentioned) and surgery (off-camera, seein in hospital bed). it is caught early and she has no complications but a few episodes do deal with her coming to terms with that. this runs up until the finale.
i hope i've given you enough necessary information to make your decision. no show is good enough to worth you getting triggered on a distressing topic. for a similar time travel and revenge plotline without cancer i recommend perfect marriage revenge. sending love!
Honestly I really liked all her dramas since WWWSK, and I never got why they got such bad rep. Each had their…
the only one i still have to see is her private life, but i absolutely agree with you on not understanding her apparent bad rep? the only one i hated and felt very disappointed by was forecasting love and weather, that one in my honest opinion was awful - not down to any of the actors however, just the story was not it. i've seen complaints that she always does the same role, however i find that absolutely absurd bc to me each role was very different! i love her, i find her very charming and as you say she truly has chemistry with everyone and her acting is wonderful and suits this genre very well. she can balance comedy and drama so well, the romantic scenes and the sad ones too. amazing actress! i'll insta-watch anything she does
just finished watching, am aware some hate the twist in the drama come ep 12 while some just stayed because they…
i do feel like the direction post ep12 will probably be the most divisive for the show, they should have given more focus to the romances. still, it brought the drama and the tension the show promised so i guess the production chose to go for the more thriller feel than romance
Was I the only one who thought she deserved to die when she opened the door after seeing no one on the monitor?
any other time i'd agree but she does say she was expecting sumin and was basically luring her in so she obv had to open the door to get her in so that she could get the filmed confession
She loves him. How hard is that to understand? She’s furious with him, but she can’t help herself from loving…
but to her it is, so that's why she's "trying to make it look like it". to her, she thinks what she's doing IS noble. obv as an outsider we can view it rationally, we can see her flaws, judge her hatred. but like. that IS her character rn. this IS the show we're watching
