Agreed fully the military arc was very underwhelming and made one woman without experience basically the goddess…
Yeah... I do wish Xie Zheng had more fight scenes so we could see his fierceness in full detail cause he was truly a force to be reckoned with. I especially disliked how we often "heard" about some of his battles without ever getting a glimpse of them... 🫤
It's a fantastic drama, especially the second half, keep going!!! 💯
I think his complicated personality and his trauma were depicted in his facial expressions and that's why he looks more rough there. I do think his beauty is more polished in "Pursuit of Jade" but I still think he's handsome in "Kunning Palace".
You guys do realize that the TRUE villains were the old Emperor and that rat, the Grand Tutor Li, right??? 👿
And if I understood correctly, in the alternate universe, the Crown Prince, when he became Emperor, he too was on a path to become like his father. 💀Which means their bloodline was corrupt. ❌In my book, Bao'er didn't deserve the throne. There should be a new Emperor and a new Dynasty free of the crimes of the previous royal family. 🙌
Wei Yan was never a truly bad guy or a traitor. The fact that HE was executed but not that snitch Li... 🤬It's beyond me. He was a tragic figure, his ending was filmed masterfully, kudos to the director 👏
Btw, why didn't they show us a grand wedding with Xie Zheng and Changyu?!?! 😓Or at least Gongsun and the Royal Princess?!?! And the cropped bath/love scene. HOW DARE THEYYYY????😤
Also, one gripe I have about the drama (and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Changyu, she's one of the best C-Dramas FLs ever). They made Changyu a Big General only after a couple of fights and killing that general and Prince Changxin. 🧐Sure, those were huge achievements but with no military training whatsoever, no real commanding skills etc etc, you can't tell me it was normal to give her a whole army. 🤨That looked ridiculous to me. ⁉️We needed at least 5 more episodes to actually see her growth as an official.
Anyway, I listed my complaints first, I'm still giving this a 10/10. 😉Loved the story as a whole, absolutely ADORED the cinematography, cherished every single actor and actress because everyone gave their actual BEST performances. ✨🤌❤️I'll remember this drama and its frenzy fondly. 💖Definitely a rewatch is a must, hehe. Looking forward to seeing y'all in "Love Beyond The Grave" comment section in the following days, of you choose to watch that show!! 😁
This is it... 😭 The final day... I'm going to binge the final 5 episodes later today and cry all night that it's all over 💔🥺Such a ride and although the first half of the drama was stronger plot-wise I still think this is 10/10!!! I'm gonna miss our beautiful couple and the rest of the gang so much 😢 The rewatch value is so high, I wish I could forget it all and experience the entire story from the start 😁
What are you guys watching after this to deal with the ending blues?? I can't wait for "Love Beyond The Grave" 😉 And "Rebirth"!
I don't know about the rest of you but I had the time of my life with episode 34!!! 😝The Emperor was hilarious and I LOVED Changyu roasting everyone and especially Grand Tutor Li at court. 😈🔥I keep rewatching the palanquin scene, I was literally rolling on the sofa the first time, laughing uncontrollably with tears in my eyes, holding my belly!!! 😂🤣Serves that old fart right!!! 😎
Btw, is it just me or are other people who can't really hate Wei Yan?? 🤔I mean... Obvious, he's a villain and he deserves punishment but he's not the type of villain I wanna punch every time I see him. Maybe because we haven't seen too much of him or maybe because the actor's aura is that way. I'd like to see him play an Emperor one day!!👀
PS: Are we getting one episode tomorrow or the express package??🙏
It was so good until the ending... 🫤The last 10 minutes kinda ruined the vibe for me. It could have been a 10/10 but the "plot twist" was lame imo and the "loop" thing is just cheap. 🙄Still worth a watch of course, it's amazing until the last two episodes. But in eps 11-12 I just had about enough of the Mafia people and wanted them gone, they pissed me off so bad. It deserved proper closure but I doubt it will have a second season...
???????????????😦 What the hell is this drama doing at 7.5?!?!?!?!?!?!?! 😒Are y'all serious???🤦
I guess people are satisfied only with cheap romcoms these days. 😮💨They don't know how to appreciate a good thriller. 🙄This and "Siren's Kiss" are the only good ongoing mystery dramas and it's crazy to me how people are sleeping on them. Their loss, personally I'm having a great time. 😎I especially love Ju Ji Hoon and Nana's characters here. I wanna know more about how they came to work together so closely. Looking forward to ep4!!

I'm preeeetty sure we got 1 ep per day at some point for "Sword and Beloved" but I don't remember if there was a special reason.
"Shadow Love" was exactly as you described though. 6 episodes at the beginning, 6 at the end and , 2 per day in the middle without a change.
