Amazing.

The second to last episode scared the crap out of me, but the finale turned it all around! While, once again, time jumps aren't my thing, I think this one worked out really well. It's nice how they've brought in an interesting message about the March 11th disaster and the JASDF into the series. I think that was done incredibly effectively without rehashing things we've already seen before on news broadcasts. I also love where everyone ends up! Super cute, super moving.

Surprised by how much I like it!

I'm actually rather impressed by the first episode of this series. I've seen both the twdrama and kdrama versions of this story, and one of the things that always bugged me endlessly was the female protagonist with absolutely nothing but shortcomings. Kotoko, in this version, has a strong will and a positive outlook that seemed to be a bit missing from other versions. She's fun to watch, and I actually can't wait to see what happens next to her! (Despite already technically knowing!)

It's a refreshing take on a well-known story, and I definitely plan to keep watching!

I hate children, but...

Seriously. I have never liked children, and have skipped just about all drama involving them. YET I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS SHOW. Starman is adorable, it gets some major bogus conflict out of the way quickly so as to move onto character development, and I even think the main couple (despite the grand age difference) is cute! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? What have you don to me, show?!

Starts off with a "bang"!

Uhhh wow would be my first word after the first episode. Definitely different from any drama I've watched, I do see the resonances with LIFE (by the same manga-ka). I really want to see what will happen to these girls, and what happened in their pasts to make them the way they are now. Very intriguing.

OH MY GOD

Time jumps. I loathe them, but in this case it was a necessary evil. I did not realize this show was taking place in 2011 until I saw the calendar, and then--GAAAH. What a way to end an episode!!

I wish more people were watching this show, and this episode is one more reason why!

Basically, the JASDF PR department has to deal with heavy backlash in this episode that isn't their fault, and Inaba and Sorai who were originally on the same side are put at odds. There are some really good points made on all sides that really surprised me. One more great episode, I can't wait to see where this story goes!

Surprisingly solid.

Not as draggy or slow to enter into the main storyline as most first episodes, also not rife with disgusting potty humor or over the top acting. Typically I hate first episodes of even the best kdrama, but this one was actually pretty fun and strong overall. Will definitely continue this series.

HEART PALPITATIONS

My god I think my heart actually skipped a beat at the end of this episode. My shipper heart is so conflicted! I'm always terrified by thrillers where you know who is evil but the good guys don't and I just want Shi Ohn and Gun Woo to be okay! Taecyeon has stolen my heart, but that look on Hyung Joon's face....God this show has me in its clutches!

Came for Taec...

I'm a huge Taecyeon fan, so I came into this drama purely for him. But I stayed for the INTENSITY. I was holding my breath through a lot of this first episode. The pacing is really good, and you get into the story/premise much faster than most kdrama I've seen. Can't wait to see where this goes next!

Impressive cast.

I love Karina, and she has sparkling chemistry with everyone, so to see her with the equally chemistry-inducing Yamapi is really interesting. But even the supporting cast is made up of stars! It's surprising with each new appearance. The story itself is all right, but it feels mostly like a nostalgic summer story, and that's something I've seen before. I'll keep watching to see if there are any good twists on the old formula, though.

Best. Episode. Ever.

There is so much to love about this episode! Not even just the steamy makeouts at the end, but the revenge Boong Do gets on Dong Min by locking him in the shower is priceless!! It must've been nice for him to finally have a leg up on everybody in the future, knowing exactly how they behave. Yoo In Na and Ji Hyun Woo just KILL IT in this drama, they are incredible!

Fascinating start.

I'm so intrigued to see where this story is going after only watching one episode. It's introduced a lot of pieces, but I'm still not sure how they all connect just yet. Even the premise of the high school alone is fascinating. It's a little slow to start, but I think that's just in order to capture the feeling of isolation that is ever-present at the school. Eery, creepy and interesting. Will definitely keep watching.
