This drama deserves a higher rating. I gave it a 9, though I am typically more generous than MyDramaList ratings.…
This drama has been downvoted by haters twice. First, during its airing, hundreds of accounts downvoted it, dropping the rating from 8.3 to 7.6 in just one hour. Later, when the score had recovered to 8.2, it was downvoted again overnight, falling to 7.9. Both MDL and IMDB were the same, downvoted twice.
Without these manipulations, the rating would likely be around 8.3–8.5, especially considering that this is not a romance drama.
On April 19, Luo Yunxi made history at Singapore’s Star Awards. Invited by state-owned Mediacorp, he became the first and only non-Singaporean actor to walk the finale red carpet, present two awards, and perform on stage. Prominent Singapore media outlets praised him:
• “The most successful symbol of Chinese culture in Southeast Asia,” by Singapore’s leading Chinese newspaper • "His popularity in Singapore has surpassed that of the vast majority of local artists." by Mediacorp • “Singapore's most popular Chinese actor, with no competitors." (backed by google trend data he was trending on all category (not only ent) by HUGE margin the day he arrives • Channel News Asia highlighted his “extremely smart answer” on short dramas versus long dramas.
Elegant, eloquent, cultured, soft-spoken, and with the grace of ballet in his movements, Luo Yunxi is the perfect ambassador for Chinese culture—despite being underrated at home due to his modest self-promotion. Governments, however, recognize his true value: honored as Thai Chinese Cultural Ambassador by the Thai government, the only actor whose drama was selected as CCTV’s CPOP for two consecutive years, the only actor mentioned twice at China’s most important national conference, and now the only Chinese actor given a prominent stage at Singapore’s “Oscar,” once again by a state-owned company.
He built his stellar image through his characters.
Eastmoney.com, a leading listed financial company, reported:
“Shui Long Yin/Whispers of Fate” will be a top blockbuster drama of 2025( in terms of revenue. ) It quoted:
“Shui Long Yin received 560 million RMB in advertising revenue, earning Mango 140 million based on a 1:3 ratio split (with other investors such as Migu, Otter Studio, and other production companies). The show’s popularity exceeded expectations, leading to more than 10 brands increasing their partnership with SLY. Advertising quotes for SLY rose from 1.8 million per 30 seconds to 2.6 million.”
It also mentioned Mango TV’s net profit is projected to increase by 31% in the fourth quarter, with “Mango TV advertising revenue at 1.29 billion in the fourth quarter” almost half coming from SLY 💪
This once again proves Yunhe is a BIG SCAM.
Luo Yunxi has shown his worth through financial reports from Alibaba, Huace, and now again with Mango Super Media. Whispers of Fate doesn’t need waterfall data—it only needs to prove PROVEN profitability 💪💪💪.
And this doesn’t even include revenue from the 14,000-seat concert, record merchandise sales, or MIGU or overseas SLY sales to more than 120 countries. No wonder they didn’t bother with heavy marketing—it was already profitable before airing 😂.

LYX is making history once again. Invited to Star Awards SINGAPORE 2026 as both performer + presenter — 1st C-actor to do both in their 32 years history.
Star Awards normally did not invite C actor, the last one was from 2019, but mostly film industry giants like Chow Yun-fa. This is a huge honor shows how other country truly values his industry influence and acting professional credibility — from Runyu, Tan Tai Jin to Tang Li Ci — proving his characters have gone mainstream internationally.
In China where fandom noise and fake data are rampant, LYX has been approved by other country repeatedly, from Thailand government awarded Luo Yunxi the title of " China-Thailand Friendship Cultural Ambassador ," marking the first time Thailand Government has bestowed such an honor upon an artist to making history as the 1st Chinese actor to both perform and present awards at the Oscar of Singapore….. 💪
Wow, nice! Gonna binge this ! btw XiXi is in Singapore soon for the Star Award🤭
If it not for this documentary, I won’t not know how majestic Potala Palace is, the interior is smaller but the best I’ve seen. Yes I know hehe…but I’d rather wait for his own concert. Are you going to cross the border and pick him up?🤭 Must be SQ fight fr Beijing 😉
So many months on, its still difficult to watch other historical c-dramas as the comparison to WoF inevitably…
Same…..I keep trying new S+ dramas but end up dropping them, even while FF a lot. Right now I’m rewatching WoF. Back with Till The End of The Moon, it took me 6 months before I could start another drama without quitting. These days, I just can’t stand filler plots—I really value actors who make their characters feel alive.
How many Mango medals are we at, for WoF? Mango medals require watching at least 30 minutes of an episode plus…
Abt 2.6+M medals and still increasing. Mango medal was introduced in 2025. For comparison: The other F centric drama had 30.000 (for both drama+sequel). A drama that aired at the end of the year had 150.000 medal. So SLY is 17.3x more than 2nd Medal count, and 86.6x more than a drama that Yunhe claimed 40+M views hehe. Actually we can gauge how happy Mango and Hunan TV just by looking at the stage given to LYX during Lantern Festival Gala which probably absorbed 50% of the budget hehe....
Dao Gui Yi Xiang (The Strange Immortal), this is a big IP. This 🍉surfaced 3x, in ’24, ’25 and now—take…
I hope this is true, after Tan Tai Jin and Tang Li Ci, one wonder what kind of other complex and difficult to portray character worthy of his acting. Li Huowang it is. The actor rumored has emoji of "cloud" so either XRY or LYX. But Li Huowang needs the best actor in the industry.
Now thats not something one would like to hear especially if they reconsidering whether to start the show or not.
Whispers of Fate is not your average C drama. The story is layered with Buddhist philosophy, making it deep and thought provoking, and it demands your full attention to appreciate its complexity. This drama focuses on heroism and the male lead’s journey. Luo Yunxi delivers his best acting to date, supported by some impressive side characters.
The production quality is top notch: stunning CGI, lavish costumes, and beautifully choreographed fight scenes, all backed by a huge budget. If you’re looking for a drama that combines philosophy, artistry, and epic storytelling, this is a must watch. But if you’re after something light, fluffy romance, and easy to digest, this is not it. Whispers of Fate has resonated strongly in countries where Buddhism is deeply rooted, and it is Mango TV’s most viewed drama to date.
If you have not seen any of Luo Yunxi drama, you miss out on China most talented actor, he is a true master of complex character.
LYX’s recent interview with Thai TV platform Truevisions once again reflects the consistency he has shown since 2018. For longtime fans, his words feel familiar—he has remained humble and low key despite his status and fame, just as he was when he first rose to prominence from Runyu to today, among China’s finest actors:
“My experience in dance did not just train my physical control, it quietly forged a professional instinct within me, one that refuses to settle for ‘almost good enough’. That standard of excellence has carried through into every decision I’ve made as an actor and a singer. Talent may determine where you begin, but self discipline determines how far you go. It is an inner strength—one that keeps me pushing forward even when no one is watching.”
There is no stopping LYX. His journey has been thorny, yet his resilience and quiet determination keep pushing him forward, cementing one classic character after another. We are truly witnessing the growth of an exceptional actor whose sky has no limit.
LYX-Inspired Paintings Featured in National Exhibition Two black and white paintings titled “The Road of Cloud and Light, The Road of Yunxi” are currently on prominent display in Chengdu as part of a national tour art exhibition. Created by a Russian artist, these works previously won the Russian Artist Competition in Beijing and received high praise from the Chairman of the Russian Artists’ Union.
When asked why she chose LYX as the central inspiration for these pieces, the artist shared: She first encountered LYX through her first C drama TTOETM, which moved her so deeply that she decided to write a book with LYX as the hero.
She said: “The life and activity of this great man inspired my creativity. LYX possesses amazing creativity. His sun shines on everyone. There are many beautiful people on the outside, but not everyone has a beautiful soul.” She added: “Besides being a highly talented actor, LYX has another unique characteristic: awakening and activating the creativity of others. I believe this is his true mission on earth.”
I can’t agree more: It is well known in C Ent, LYX has one of the largest communities of professional painter fans in Chinese entertainment. His artistic sensibility, both in his craft and in the way he carries himself, consistently inspires creative expression across nations.
These two paintings—and the story behind them—are a beautiful testament to the way LYX’s presence resonates far beyond the screen.
What a wonderful summary! ⋆˚₊ 𖤓☽˚.⋆⋆˚₊ 𖤓☽˚.⋆⋆˚₊ 𖤓☽˚.⋆⋆˚₊ 𖤓☽˚.⋆⋆˚₊…
LYX has transformed into China’s first true IP driven actor, extending the influence of his characters into long term cultural and commercial value. His dramas have generated record breaking merchandise sales, multiple dedicated games, themed variety shows, large scale concerts, and even a theme park.
He has become a cross border cultural ambassador—from serving as a guardian of Dunhuang culture, to ambassador Hanfu revival in Xi’an, to inspiring tourism campaigns across multiple provinces that actively tag his dramas. He is unique….and a league on his own.
1. LYX is the only C-actor ever referenced in the recent Political Chinese CCP Conference 2 years in a row—2025 (Till the End of the Moon) & 2026 (Hunan TV Lantern Festival performance). This political honor underscores his strength beyond the entertainment industry.
2. IP Actor Status: The 2025 Datawin White Paper certified LYX as a rare IP actor, recognizing his actor branding from turning lesser-known novel IPs into blockbuster hits through his character portrayal, making him a safe choice for investor ROI. His Luo Yunxi IP branding consistently delivered from Drama ROI with low marketing cost, historical record IP merchandise sales to cultural and tourism branding.
3. As AI starts rolling to replace most supporting roles below 2nd ML and FL, only IP actors will endure (per investor in recent 2026 TV Drama Industry Conference). LYX has secured his place with nuanced performances that make his characters irreplaceable by AI.
4. Dark Horse Success: His drama The Truth Within—aired without investment or platform promotion—became a surprise hit with 32.3M views per episode (Maoyan) and the highest Marketing ROI/conversion rate of 2026 at 38%+, reinforcing his IP factor.
5. IP Actor Merchandise Impact: TTEOTM and WoF set historic merchandise sales. Recently, 3 years later, TTEOTM is still used as case studies in the 2026 TV Drama Industry Conference through character-driven demand—the “Luo Yunxi IP effect.”
6. LYX’s Character IP Long-Lasting Demand: Even years later, the upcoming TTEOTM 3rd anniversary will bring new merchandise, while WoF continues releasing new products almost half a year after airing. In C-drama only LYX’s characters sustain this level of long-term audience monetization.
7. LYX achieved the milestone of 3 characters surpassing 1 Billion views on TikTok (Runyu, Tan Tai Jin & Tang Li Ci) with total views over 5.5 Billion, setting an industry record. This even with WoF being restricted on Douyin for not signing a marketing deal with Douyin/Tik tok
8. LYX as Cultural Tourism IP Brand: He continues from being the first Thailand-China cultural tourism spokesperson, Bengbu Gov thanking him for his over 10B tourism income contribution from TTEOTM, to over dozens of provincial governments tagging his drama WoF. Yunnan Gov recently claimed his drama elevated tourism, and this week Chengdu launched the “Travel Chengdu with Luo Yunxi” program.
His fans are waiting for his birthday July 28, 2026, when his contract should expire and he finally can spread his wings.
Without these manipulations, the rating would likely be around 8.3–8.5, especially considering that this is not a romance drama.
