After weeks of digesting the ending. I feel that is the best ending for him. At the end he can chose his own destiny. He is no longer a chess piece between the Two Gods ADG & Ming Ye. Even the loves he received was started with full of deceptions.
TTJ ending is beffing of a true GOD, he has been transformed to one who saved the 3 realms. Although it is not shown in the drama due to cut but was in the script. Everyone knows he is their saviours.
