Agree watch the drama first for immortality then read the novel. Because the novel is sooo GOOD, and with all the C restriction, the drama is a compromise. But its R+ rated novel.

Yeah poor YZ with her golden hairpin. The only other dramas this year I'm waiting other than immortality is YZ lost u forever , Longest Promise, Legends of Shen Li. And that CY wuxia drama.

YZ acting is stable, that's what I like abt her. from beginning to end, she understands her character. Legends of Shen Li I'm waiting cause ZLY looks really good there and for me she is no 1 in acting right now.

Immortality aka HYX is big myth. It is so famous, everyone heard about it, everyone talked about it BUT no one ever seen it.

I fully understand why it is "high risk" to make it into 2 parts.
Right now this drama is getting one of the worst slander in C Drama land. Being reported for plagiarism, reported TTJ poisoning the mind of young kids, various petitions to be taken down etc bcs it is Damn popular. And wt this breaking record left and right, if 2nd part will be in 6 months. We might not see it. What if any of the support actors or maybe any of the directors got into tax evasions or anything illegal. We won't see the 2nd part either.
I bet no popular drama will want to do 2nd part. Other competitor is trying to bury this drama.

It should be the same. Like in China rumor was Netflix going to get the longer version, but the official said Fake. So everywhere the same, the diff is right now Youku still go back changing BGM and filter for previous eps, also subs. So maybe at the end the best version must still be in Youku app.
