The script is following the novel timeline but elevated it to another level. I'm not a fan of LBFAD cause it just a simple Xianxia love story done right. I long for a grander bigger story, full of angst, full of reversal, colorful multi dimensional characters...while we sometimes get these types of story, the actor does not always deliver (this for me includes the support actors not only leads). TTOETM is very different than LBFAD, the focus is not the love alone, but transforming the Devil.
I'm really loving the novel of TTEOTM. I kinda want TTEOTM to follow the novel and go all out with Tantai Jin's…
What I can tell you is the script is SO MUCH BETTER than novel, script writer took this to another level, each character is full, heavy focus on ML growth. The darkness is reduced (as usual in C drama) but you still get the dark TTJ but whitewash LSS. TTEOTM is closer to GOT /Lord of the Ring…..This is not a simple fluffy boring love story with your white moonlight one-dimensional hero that is flooding C drama.
TTJ is a complicated difficult to act character, and very few C actor will be able to deliver TTJ, let alone with his original voice, playing 4 characters total. LYX got selected even bfr the novel was finish let alone the script. TTJ description matches LYX and who else can nail this difficult to act character naturally. I’m excited……
BTW I did not like the novel but I love the script....

Yeah 2ha novel is at another level. It’s such an amazing story. Grand complex full of angst. U might like this drama too, it has the same elements. Drama script is so much better than the novel for tteotm
