Happy 15th anniversary, Luo Yunxi. May 2026 bring you safe journeys and an even brighter career path. This year, I feel truly blessed to witness the emotional growth of Tang Li Ci, and soon, Qi Sizhe.
Let me point out the correct reading for China Rating (CVB issuer) 2025 year-end drama review, on Shui Long Yin, based on this article:
China Video Big Data (CVB) 2025 Domestic TV Drama Ratings Report https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/YFpPRPj8Cn9dTc1wT7Skgg Whispers of Fate is the yearly 🥭2025 Champion (which also makes it the ’23–’25 champion).
It states: “Shui Long Yin aired on Hunan TV, it achieved a local viewership rating of 1.601%, with over 8.2 billion views on Weibo, ranking first in 🥭 TV’s drama viewership in 2025.”
According to the China Rating CVB 2025 report:
Web drama annual champion for each platform • 🐧 Love’s Ambition – Zhao Lusi • 🥝 This Thriving Land – Yang Mi • 👖 The Legend of Zang Hai – Xiao Zhan • 🥭 Whispers of Fate – Luo Yunxi
Top 3 most viewed dramas on Satellite TV Prime Time (CVB 2025) All top 3 are from Hunan Satellite TV: 1. Deep Undercover – views 260 million 2. Growing Together, views – 163.09 million 3. Whispers of Fate – views 160.93 million
This is a remarkable achievement for Shui Long Yin, as both CCTV and satellite channels typically attract different audiences than web dramas. Family, war, and suspense genres dominate traditional TV viewership, so for SLY—a blend of Xianxia and Wuxia—to rank in the top three out of 50 dramas aired on satellite TV in 2025 is especially impressive. Its core audience was concentrated on Mango TV, which is a much bigger plate than Satellite TV audience.
Taken together, the data shows that when combining total viewership from both 🥭 TV + Hunan TV, Shui Long Yin emerges as the overall top crown winner.
The CVB report does not include MIGU, but it is proven that surpassing a heat index of 12,000 on that platform is difficult, even for popular dramas. In this context, SLY reaching 15,000 is an outstanding result.
Today Mango made a video to congratulate LYX on his 15th anniversary.
Happy 15th anniversary, Luo Yunxi. May 2026 bring you safe journeys and an even brighter career path. This year, I feel truly blessed to witness the emotional growth of Tang Li Ci, and soon, Qi Sizhe. The song you released for your anniversary holds a lot of meaning—it was a piece you composed back in your college days as Luo Yi. It’s a beautiful reminder of how your talent has always shone through.
Luo Yunxi today is a powerful, charismatic actor and the perfect ambassador of Chinese culture to the world. And Luo Yi, your younger self, was already a star in his own right—multiple award-winning ballet dancer, a gifted song composer, and even a creator of game music.
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 6 years since I first discovered you as Runyu.
Liu Ya-se is going to be solid in this.I hope she was able to do her own ADR, given I like her voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PM_jj0ega8I'm…
Lyx has a big screen presence so I'm not worry. The one pairing that I want to see on screen is LYX and Hu Jun. So far, most of the actor he worked with are not his level, it should be beneficial for him to work with veteran excellent actor.
Lol, this is taken from a different drama. This has not aired. And please respect producer, screenwriter, director and actors work night and day many times paid with sweat and blood to make a drama.
It will air on Youku’s White Night Theater, a program specializing in suspense dramas. The FL is the ML’s work partner. Liu Ya-Se is supposedly the best actress LYX has ever worked with—she’s a non-idol movie star actress and won the Best Actress award at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards. I’m happy he finally gets to work with a serious actress. The director is also the screenwriter, his previous work all suspense drama.
Hope it turns out good!
I’m excited to see LYX in a different genre and curious about how he’ll portray Qi Sizhe. His acting was really good at Broker.
Why do I get the feeling that 🍉is true? Been ignoring it but looks like no preheating and dropping this right away? I have not even finish my rewatch of Whispers of Fate yet.....
I can see why people who are completely oblivious of China's rich history and classical literature can only yammer…
Agree, from reading various reviews and ratings: Low scores mostly come from people who DON'T want to understand the story, aren’t interested in male centric dramas yet still watch, expect mandatory romance, dislike Xianxia and have little knowledge of or interest in Chinese culture and history.
High scores come from viewers with a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture and history, as well as those who recognize the artistic quality this drama delivers. I also saw age demographic on the rater, the older the higher the rating. Consistent in different platforms.
Having watched WoF 3 times, have to say that personally the re-watch value doesn't diminish as there's so much…
I’m having a tough time with SLY withdrawal 😅. On my 2nd watch , I’m slowing down to absorb all the foreshadowing, the deeper character interactions and once again admire the brilliant acting of LYX. Still blown away by the gorgeous set design, stunning costumes and fight scenes. Looks like a 3rd rewatch is definitely coming…..
Big👏👏👏🥳 Never know there are comment sections for reviews....Amazing review, I have read it 3x now....Thank you for letting me appreciate SLY on deeper level.
This is a really amazing review. What makes it stand out is how she delved deeper, going beyond surface-level reactions. It explores the cultural, philosophical, and artistic layers of the show with real thought and surgical precision. I especially like how you highlight the story through both Chinese traditions and Western structures, showing how the drama bridges the two. Your review explains Tang Lici’s journey through the interplay of shūnyatā and karuna. That idea of compassion born from understanding emptiness makes the ending even more beautiful. Tang Lici is one of the most unique and impressive characters in recent years.
This type of review set an example how one can appreciate SLY on deeper level.
Thank you for this beautiful sharing! Will they collaborate again? And here he is last night, with his iconic flute:…
On Future collaboration she said “If I have a suitable script for him, I know the type of script that will excite Luo Yunxi. No producer will refuse to work with an excellent actor.” But imo maybe in the next few years, all the IP they have now is romance drama and LYX has not selected any romance drama for some years.
Watched WoF with eng subs on WeTV and MangoTV. Imo, none of the English subs do full justice to the depth of conversations…
The collective writings from several users—Azure, Xiang83, and Tara Verde—have greatly helped SLY’s international fans in going beyond the surface of the story. Their insights allow fans to better understand the deeper layers of the plot and the messages the producer and scriptwriter are trying to convey. I would love to hear more of your thoughts as well.
Not many people discuss this, but there are big underlying similarities between both Tan Tai Jin and Tang Li Ci…
Both sacrificed themselves after being enlightened to experience human emotion.
Tan Tai Jin found love, even if in my opinion it was one-sided. He had his guardian Ming Ye and his master, who loved him unconditionally. Viewers were given many scenes of TTJ’s backstory, allowing us to empathize with his suffering from childhood to adulthood. At the end he said: “My life has been so hard, let me end this life.”
TTJ’s expression during his sacrifice showed how painful and tired he was from his difficult life. There was a lot of sadness, but also relief that everything would be over soon and the world he loved would avoid calamity.
Tang Li Ci’s young backstory was severely cut, so we didn’t see enough of the even more sinister things he was forced to do during childhood.
TLC did have four years of happy memories during ZDL, and later many people supported him wholeheartedly—especially Shen Lang Hun, Chi Yun, Master Zhao, Bai Nan Zhu, Shui Do Po, Gu Xi Tan, Shao Ya Pin and others. He also finally realized he had a mother who loved him deeply.
Tang Li Ci’s last expression was: “I was not ready to leave this world, but I know this is what I must do. I loved all my friends and this world, and even though I am reluctant, I must do it.”
Two self-sacrificial acts, done differently. This is the exceptional quality of LYX’s acting.
Not many people discuss this, but there are big underlying similarities between both Tan Tai Jin and Tang Li Ci (and also his Chu Wanning): all of them were born scripted to serve a sinister goal for their creator, but all of them were able to break free from that scripted life.
I want to highlight the last moment—the difference between Tan Tai Jin and Tang Li Ci.
Happy 15th anniversary, Luo Yunxi.
