a low-budget and simple yet surprisingly good and complex coming-of-age movie. healing can be a tricky process and nobody can save you from your traumas other than yourself, but the existence of someone or something dear and important in your life could change a lot. just them simply being there for you would give you the strength to face your demons and move forward. i love that they built jacqueline up like a real character, so witty yet endearing, and cleverly took advantage of her creepiness to make comedy bits out of it.
fyi this drama has never gotten subbed in english by anyone. the “subber” below who said they would pick this up… actually hasn’t updated their blog since 2022. so if any subber is interested in adopting this one, go for it.
i finished watching this in 2022 and now 3 years later i still think about it sometimes. i really liked it. one of the better foodie jdramas, well-directed and solid story-telling. beautiful cinematography too. praying that it will get a sequel someday.
overall still an enjoyable show as ever. my favorite episodes are the sanrio puroland, the haunted hospital and the explosion experience. some small but steady character developments for our leading lady this season (i love her sm). the only minus point is the color grading was a bit too much at times, it kinda ruined some scenes.
also really glad that tv tokyo seems to make this an annual show with new season every year! with more accessible jpn captions too! it’s always a joy to see more saotome megumi on my screen <3
i just found out that Itagaki Rihito and Maki Tsuyoshi not only have the same bloodtype (AB) but also have the same birthday (Jan 28th)… like??? huh??? the perfect Maki does exist and we are the ones that get to witness this in real time.
(they actually did mention this in the character introduction on the drama’s official website but i just noticed it now)
now that’s the kind of jdramas magic that i fell in love with in the first place
Naru still couldn’t read kanji but it was so cute that at the end of Ep9 she knew right away that the word he just wrote on her shirt was his name ‘Sei’ 🥹
went into this thinking there would be queer subtext, but it's honestly not subtext at all 😭😭 it's very…
well it’s true that the show isn’t explicitly labeled BL so it must be confusing for some people, but people really refuse to see maki’s feelings? can’t be me, and glad that i haven’t witnessed that side of the internet yet. here we audiences and our mamas collectively scream “MAKI WE KNOW WHAT U ARE!!” at every single episode.
finally had the time to finish this drama. and i really enjoyed it. so glad to see Nojima Shinji not only still…
also, we have a gay character and an asexual (?) character here. i did guess the twist of junpei being gay but i’d never have thought the drama would draw the connection between junpei and ririko like that hahahaha that was actually very cute.
finally had the time to finish this drama. and i really enjoyed it. so glad to see Nojima Shinji not only still have his touch but also evolve and adapt to the modern era. well, he can have his ups and downs, i just hope he’ll never stop screen-writing.
and Marie was so cute here arghh i squealed when she did the ‘hitting the like button’ lol love her sm.
1. there was something wrong with kainuma’s hand when he was having dinner with maki? was it a symptom of his…
i know what’s going to happen, i’ve read the manga too. but since the drama has already changed kainuma so much and there are still a few details left unexplained, i’m just wondering if they’re gonna add some twists and turns and make that case a little different from the manga.

maki: it’s fine. don’t follow me.
aoki *runs after maki*: Maki-san!
maki: you didn’t need to rush, i would’ve waited.
lmao
