I do not want to contradict you but I said it after what I saw it. In the begining of episode 1, after Lee Yeon narrated that his brother died in 2020, it was the scene where Lee Yeon asked Taluipa why his brother has not reincarnated yet. On the screen it was written, after 4 months (of course, it was after 4 months after Lee Rang`s death). Lee yeon made a contract with Taluipa about his death (to accure at the same time with his wife), to lose his gumiho powers. It was nothing about his brother. We can assume that after he came back from the mission, he obtained a favor from Taluipa about his brother`s reincarnation.
Now, some questions from season 1 can be answered. He is not human but he will die (will not longer be a gumiho) when his wife will die. And the scene where he met the child reincarnation of his brother, occured after many years of LR`s death (like many fans already have knew). It is logic to assume that scene was after some years after his brother`s death and that he went back in 1938 mission before that scene. That`s my interpretation. I could be wrong.

For me it is not confusing but I did not watch the first season. From what I understood, Lee Yeon traveled in time four months after Lee Rang`s death. So the final scene of season 1 (when you saw Lee Rang`s reincarnation) has happened after he came back from his time travel. That means Lee Yeon will succeed to come back in 2020.

Of course. And even after being rejected again and knowing how proud she is, Hong Joo still cares about Lee Yeon. It is normal that she feels angry sometimes but Lee yeon knows that she is a friend.

She stabbed both. He is very well so yeah... she protected him. But it is a funny situation. LOL

Lee Yeon met Hong joo when they were young, so they knew each other long before he met his human lover. Plus, she confessed to him and got rejected. Lee Yeon doesn`t love Hong Joo as a romantic partner but as a friend.

I did not watch season 1 and it is perfectly fine. It is up to you. If you have time and like the genre you can watch it. Or you could read about it like I did. If you watch only this season you`ll understand all the important things from season 1. They will tell you about them.

Hong Joo is physically the strongest but it seems that Lee Yeon has other abilities that make him a formidable opponent for Kato. Mu Young can control the fire, and has an unique blood that can heal wounds or bring back people from the death. I say those are very important abilities. From what I saw Lee Yeon can make people forget what happen to them or can change his shape. Mu Young said that he needed Lee Yeon from 2020 because he was the only one who could do some things. We`ll see what it is.
All four mountain gods are powerful. Look how hard it is when they fight each other. Their powers are complementary. It is not a contest who has the coolest or the most efficient power. That`s why they need to fight together against their common enemies.

Ryuhei Kato has a laboratory where they experiment on Korean monsters. They utilize them against their own? I did not expect that.

Lee Yeon and Lee Rang won`t die that`s for sure. I don`t think Hong Joo will die either but I thought that she could be death in 2020. I really hope she is alive and happy. She is a lonely diety but she has people who cares for her around her.
Mu young is the one who has the higher chance to die in the end but like you said, I also do not want him to die. He is really alone. He lost his mind when Lee Yeon killed his brother and he did not have support when he needed it. But he regrets it and wants to change things. It is sad that neither of them wanted to be a mountain god. They did not have a childhood but at least they have had each other. When they were mountain gods, they were alone.
I was sorry for Mu Young when they showed him alone in 2020. Someone freed him from the punishment but he had a hard time adjusting to modern times. He had a good time with Lee Yeon and Hong Joo. It was the first time I saw him smiling.

Yes, their friendship is beautiful and it is sad that they are not close like they used to be.
Mu Young still cares for Lee Yeon but in the same time he hates him. The white and red mask fits his sentiment.

I found out that actor Song Il Kook is the grandson of Kim Du Han.

In the next episode, actor Ahn Jae Mo appears and he will play his role from drama `Rustic Period` (2003). The drama "Rustic Period" focused on the life of historical figure, Kim Du Han, a gangster-turned-politician leader of the Jongro street gang during the time under the Japanese rule. He was considered to be the greatest fist fighter in Korea during his time.
Nice that the writer thought of incorporating real life figures or actors playing characters from old dramas.

When Hong Joo asked Mu young how he was doing in 2020, he lied that he was great. I think he had a hard time adjusting the modern times. But I wished she asked about herself. I am curious what Hong Joo is doing in 2020, if she is alive or not.

In the preview, I think Mu Young`s brother appears. Mu Young will realised his brother`s real nature. Perhaps he was not alright that his younger brother was chosen to be the mountain god and he turned bitter from jealousy.

It is a high probability that Jang San Beom is Mu young`s older brother, that Lee yeon killed.

Mu Young said that he made Lee yeon travel back in 1938 because he is the only one who could resolve something. If I was Hong Joo I would not have been satisfied with this answer. I would have wanted to know the truth. But it is a kdrama and they will not give answers little by little.

I don`t think he knows who is Jangsang Beom. Or maybe King of Hell told him.
I think the only way he will return the events is to go back in time before all those things happened. But it is a fantasy so everything is possible.

Jangsang Beom is a tiger. It could be Mu young's brother? Lee yeon said he did not regret killing him. Cheon ho young loved his younger brother but maybe he was bad for others. We'll see.
