The romance tag is just a guess from the people who updated the page. No other news confirm the story for the second season. It makes sense that the younger brother to have a love story this season but it is a high possibility to not be a happy love story either.
They said this season will tell the story of Lee Yeon becoming a mountain god (I am confused about that. He was not a mountain god in Joseon?) and the story of Lee Rang, that was not told in the first season. They never mention a love story for the old brother.
The writer can make a satisfying story for both fans of season 1 and new audience.

I have not even wanted to see this drama in the first place but for Kim So Yeon I will watch it even if I don`t like the stories of fantasy kdramas as their plot are weak for the most of them. IMO. I agree with you on the seasonal dramas. More and more kdramas became seasonal series and I don`t like it much. I also like to see a well planned story, with a beginning, strong middle and satisfiying end.
I can understand the worry of original story fans about creating a new story but we still don`t know what this season will be about. Perhaps it won`t invalidate the original story. The majority of fans are so worry that Lee yeon will love Hong joo (So yeon`s character). What if it is not the case? I don`t know anything about the writer but for me, the major concern is to not see a coherent story, with character growth where all the characters have a meaning not just fillers. I don`t really care who was the love of Lee Yeon`s life, who he loved more. All I know is that he lived for many years and I can accept that he had emotional connection with other people (including women) in his long life. That doesn`t invalidate the great love for Ji Ah (or whatever her name was). For someone who did not watch ther first season, I will expect to see a good comradery, a good fight between good and evil, interesting characters, Korean folklore and urban legends intervined in the story of the 30`s.
If the writer felt that she had more to tell let lee what she had in mind. It could be a good second season or not. We`ll see. I am not very optimistic but I will trust So yeon to choose something interesting for her next project.

You want to know if it will have a happy ending? LOL. I did not watch the first season either. I am not even a fan of this genre but I will watch because of Kim So Yeon. I really hope she made a good decission to choose this drama.

Who says that he will fall in love with a different girl? Lee Yeon and Hong Joo along with the other two mountain gods ruled the Korean peninsula long before he met Ji Ah. If it was said that the human girl was his first love then, it is true. They could be just friends/comrades or enemies. Who knows at this point?

There is a current conflict between SBS and MBC regarding airing date of two of their dramas with the same female lead (Lim Soo Hyang) . Both dramas want to air in May. Let`s see how this controversy is going to end.

Kim Hyun Joo and Park Hee Soon! Love the cast. It is like Undercover when Kim Hyun Joo`s charecter discover that the husband had a secret life. Now it is reversed. LOL The husband in Undercover run a bicycle repair shop, now in Trolley the wife runs a book repair shop.

I am interested to see Shin ha Kyun in a sitcom. Let see more informations about this drama.

WOW! Two dramas for Kim Seo Hyung this year! I like the genre. I can`t wait to watch Kim Seo Hyung again. I don`t know anything about the original drama but I hope it has a good script.

I am glad you like it. The Guerilla interview (2012) is also nice. So yeon is shy and emotional. We can see in every variety program. I admire her that, despite being unconfortable in those programs, she is still doing it with kindess and sincerity.

There is another favorite TV variety program that is not listed here, another favorite of mine. “Olive Special - It`s a Beautiful Day (2009), filmed in Mexico. I did not find translation but I loved it anyway. I recommend the show if you have not seen it before. Now I see that there are available on You Tube 7 parts videos of that program. I think it is missing the ending. In the missing part, So yeon performed popular song `Bessame Mucho` with the mariachi at a popular event in Mexico. Initially, they wouldn't want to let her perform because they said "she was a novice guitar performance would be hard to be moved to the stage especially when the event would be attended by many prominent locals." After knowing about the situation, Kim So Yeon began to spend the next several nights practicing her guitar, till the point where her hand bleeds. She played her own version of the song and won the praises of the locals. She did the performance to help a local girl get a new violin.

Have you watched all her programs? I also watched what was available online. LOL My favorite is Win Win (2010). I am not a fan of variety shows but I wonder when she will do a new one.

First, thanks for the reply. What I understand was that being a mountain god is a highter step in the gumiho or other mytical creatures`s existence. After he stepped down this possition and responsability, he became just a hunter of those evil spirits. That`s a downgrade but he still had a possition higher than an ordinary gumiho. I hope I understand corectly.
You believe that it will be a time travel back in time? That the present Lee Yeon will go to past to save his brother? But why he has to return in 1930 to save Lee Rang who died in 21st century? It is an interesting theory but I don`t think it will happen. But never say never. LOL
I believe it will be just a story of the past and audience will find other informations about the gumiho brothers which will complete what is already known . We`ll see.

I have a question. Someone said that Lee Yeon can sense the presence of evil spirits (that is his gumiho power) . It is confusing for me. How come? There are evil creatures that transform as humans, live among them and do harm to them or it is a spirit that possesses the creatures?
The little synopsis that we have said that the story of season 2 is Lee yeon`s becoming the mountain god and Lee rang`s unfinsished story .
But Lee yeon becoming mountain god is more of the story of season 3 in my opinion. I have more questions regarding this show. If Lee Yeon will have a love story or not is the least that preoccupes me at this moment. LOL

Some of the tags are just guesses. How they know it will be romance without any synopsis being released? But yes, I think Lee Rang will have a romance storyline beside his relationship with his brother.
I also think Lee yeon and Hong Joo will have a friendship this time around (like Lee Rang had in the first season) but it won`t the mentor student kind of relationship but it will be like old friends bantering around. Or they are just former "co workers" and not in good terms. But I do think they have known each other long before he met his human lover. That`s why, his romance from season 1 stay safe. It is a fact but everyone should concentrate in other aspects of the gumiho brothers.
It is also possible that Hong Joo will be the antagonists for the heroes in this season. We`ll see.

From what I see, the story will take back in time when both Lee Yeon and Hong Joo were the mountain gods. The action of season 2 take place in 1930 but I think the major characters know each other long time before that.

If I have to guess, I think they will clash as they have a similar background and maybe some bad history between them. Or they will colaborate as good/former friends. Either way, I don`t see how this relationship will deny the story of season one like some people are afraid. From what I read the major concern is that Hong Joo will be a love interest. I don`t think she will be. She could be a childhood friend, a former fiancee who he left because he felt in love with someone else, an enemy, everything is possible.
They made Hong Joo and equal of the hero and I am glad for that. They did not do it for nothing. Usually the heroine of love interest is someone to be saved several time but it is not the case in this season. Hong Joo can take care of herself very well (at least on paper ). I still think this time Lee Rang will have a love story and not Lee Yeon.

We talk about what we think we`ll see in this season. I did not watch the first season so I don`t really know what to expect but I know the writer will respect the world she created. But what I really want is a good script.

If Kim So Yeon is in this drama I will watch even if I am not a fan of this genre. I hope this season will have an interesting story and characters.

I wanted for Kim So yeon to play a gumiho or another immortal being (if accepting the drama) and my wish become true. If she will play a former mountain god, she had similar powers as Lee Yeon. That`s what I wanted for her character, someone to be on equal footing with the hero.
I don`t know if it was mentioned about the four mountain gods in season 1, if they explored this story. I kind of like the idea that they explored the immortal world and how the mountain gods will interact with each other. Like clashing of titans in Olympus. They should have similar power and strong will. I wish we`ll see all four.
Why Lee Yeon has lost the status of mountain god ? Because he fall in love with a mortal woman and about his choices after that?
I am curious why Ryu Hong Joo lost the status and works now in a human world as a restaurant owner. I am curious about her story. It is very possible to be an nemessis for Lee yeon in this time period.
I see potential in the story, now let see if the execution will be fine.

Normal female lead? Kim So Yeon played a female lead long before Penthouse and I hope she will do it long after that. Cheon Seo Jin was just a character which she played very well . I am sure many people will remember her as Cheon Seo Jin but I hope they eventually can separate a role from the real actress. Reading a little about her character, I think the role suits her. I just hope the writer will give her an interesting and funny character.

Finally Kim So yeon has confirmed this drama. I can not say that I am very happy that she will do this drama but if she signed I will totally support her. I trust her to choose a good role for her. It is the first time she will be in a fantasy drama and probably this was a factor in her decission. Now I want more informations about her role.

A new project for Kim So Yeon! Yay! I am looking forward to watch PD Joo Dong Min `s new project (and I am very glad it is not crazy makjang again) and of course, So yeon`s scenes in this short film.
