i love the chen yi character in the drama so much better than the character in the novel. the chen yi here makes you want to love him; the chen yi in the novel is vulgar and toxic. and yes, @kokojuju, i agree with you that the script writers have done a great job here.

Agree. Cheng Lei is such a good actor. When I watched the bts of him with Bai Lu, he's so playful, smiling and laughing all the time. But in the drama, he's so serious, and you can feel that he has a million things hiding in his heart.

Sure! I only watch c-dramas. What type do you like? The serious type, romance, witty, old, or new dramas? They are very different in production, aesthetic value, and storytelling.

Absolutely great review here. I've been contemplating watching Pursuit of Jade for weeks, but I somehow couldn't get past the ML. While everyone goes crazy over him, I'm holding back—he's too pretty to be real. When I saw people swooning over the drama, I thought there was something wrong with me—why I didn't feel the excitement —until I came across your review. I'm resonating with it so much. 6 episodes in, I'm bored. Bored with the redness and the constant staring.
