The best drama of 2020 for me. So heartfelt and touching. I loved JUST LOVED all the friendships and connections.…
So well said! Yes, in fact all this kindness is given to us daily everywhere but we tend to take it for granted. A parent fixes a meal, we tend to say, "Why are we eating the same thing again?" An umbrella holding over our heads in the rain, we tend to say, "Don't make me look like a wimp!" When a mother says, "Don't stay up too late." we'd think, is she checking on me? We seldom say, "Thank you for your concerns," until they are gone. This drama brings out all these small little things that we always take for granted, and has successfully put them right in front of our eyes to appreciate - we cry.
Is it draggy? Please advise! For your reference, I dropped all C-dramas except A Love is Beautiful because i couldn't…
Not at all draggy (like wasting time). Every scene is enjoyable and funny, and yet make you cry. Try for the first 10 episodes see if it's your cup of tea. Most of us have enjoyed it :)
- Chen Ting kills herself a second time. Regains her daughter, and half her son back, gets a partial daughter-in-law, a friend (well, at least no more animosity) in her ex-husband. - Mingyue's mom loses her husband but gains a daughter. Still as naggy and as bossy. This is something I learn in life: if I want to nag, don't do it (eg. cleaning the house). - Tan Can's mom - still the same, cares about how she looks in others' eyes. - He Mei - gains a whole complete loving family because only she has an epiphany.
Agree with you. For me, Ling Xiao's pain is not totally resolved satisfactorily. Attempting to kill herself and…
You're right, this seems to be the trend how Chinese dramas are written. I hope with time, they would improve their craft and give the viewers better written scripts.
Hi. I’m on ep 20, and I honestly need some help if I should continue watching this. Don’t get me wrong, I…
It's like: give you a candy, and then dig it out from your mouth, then give it back to you, then dig it back out from your mouth. It continues like this to the latest episode released. So it's up to you to continue or drop. For me, I'm traumatized but at the same time, addicted.
it's really annoying when the drama is so good but they rush the ending like this here. Why do they spend so much…
Agree with you. For me, Ling Xiao's pain is not totally resolved satisfactorily. Attempting to kill herself and then leaving can hardly be a closure for Ling Xiao's nightmare, if not exacerbating it. Implicitly we all know Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao are the OTP, but I wish we get more of those fluffy romantic scenes, quiet moments of them talking to each other. These are the healing times for Ling Xiao. Unfortunately, for the last 2 episodes, they become so casual to each other; they haven't done a thing together alone despite implicitly they spend nights sleeping together.
So many cross-dressing dramas these days. She also cross-dresses in a contemporary drama airing now, My Unicorn Girl, with another super good looking ML.
- Chen Ting tries to kill herself to redeem herself. - Ling Xiao makes up with her. - She returns to Singapore with Chengzi - Li Ba and He Mei get married

I would have thought she should apologize to everyone, and make good of her promises in actions, instead of redeeming herself by death. Returning to Singapore is a relief for Ling Xiao and everyone else but it is also an escape, temporarily, if she still hasn't changed; she still can come back and haunt everyone. For this, I feel the writing could have been better for Chen Ting's conclusion.
The only thing that troubles me is, she uses death to resolve everything. Though most viewers here want her dead, but if she had really died, that would have made bigger holes and cast darker shadows on Ling Xiao and Chengzi. So at this point, she still hasn't redeemed herself, but somehow, Ling Xiao has walked out of that shadow and forgiven her as if he's a new man. In real life, it doesn't work like this.
