I watched up to episode 44. Just as I thought the ML becomes strong and less vulnerable, he gets stabbed. I was like WTF! I'm so drained. So, all these pains are going to continue for him until the final catharsis which I believe will eventually come.

Hard for me to fathom all these parents: why do they still want to meddle with their adult children's lives? They are controlling and suffocating. Sadly they don't see what's wrong with this. For them, this is love and they want what's best for their children. They're making everyone so miserable.

You miss out:
- Zhuang Bei's mom who hires faked girlfriend
- Also all those gossipy aunties (all moms), no uncles
- Ling Xiao's uncle (his mom's brother) has disappeared and replaced by his wife (Ling Xiao's aunt, also a mom) who says Jianjian is going to be a problem
- The teacher (a divorced mom) who wants desperately to date Li Ba
- Ziqiu's aunt who nags a lot

Either the writer has a problem with mothers or he is trying to highlight all the problems mothers are facing and not being appreciated XD

No, there's no romance between between Chengzi and Ziqiu. What I'm saying is Chengzi wants a brother that treats her like the way Ling Xiao treats Jianjian when they were little, that kind of closeness and warmth that she finds in Ziqiu.

One thing so incredible about this drama is, despite the episodes are getting shorter, they manage to pack in a lot of details and emotions within those short 30 minutes. Just the latest episode 43 manages to make me cry and feel happy at the same time. Amazing writing!

So true. It's very hard for one to see one's behavior when one is embroiled in the situation. Many parents cannot see their own mistakes, and many kids can be critical of such mistakes but may commit the same mistakes when they become parents themselves. It's really easy said than done, I'm afraid.

For me, Chen Ting's behavior is a very familiar scene. That's why I can't bring myself to criticize her despite she torments me because I've seen so many such parents especially in the old days when mental illness was being stigmatized.

Yes, I have seen many mental abuses like this, and I and many people around me have also gone through this type of abuses. This is made even worse when parents bring about morality based on filial piety especially in the eastern world. Any disobedience is seen as not being filial pious and are being punished mentally.
