Yes, this drama touches everyone of us, living in the western or eastern world, or anywhere in between. We all have families, grow up, leave home, and the process repeats indefinitely. This drama just plays out our own life in front of us, that's why it's so touching.

Also Ming Yue's mom has asked her to go for Ling Xiao because he is a better choice. - when both are rejected in love (by Ling Xiao and Jian Jian), they're going to bond with each other - Ling Xiao's little sister is too young - too big an age difference, so don't think they can blossom romantically.
