Hua Hen Die made Shen Ming Xiu think she's Qian Yu (with the incense) and kissed him. That's the only way she could save him from the poison (which she made and sold to Mu Yan Ce) as there's no antidote. By kissing him, she managed to transfer the poison to herself, hence saving Shen Ming Xiu.
