As much as I empathize with him, I really feel like kicking him, I think his own sister and 2nd daddy do too.

OMG! The fighting scenes, the break in, everything is so nerve wrecking. I'm sitting at the edge of my seat, almost falling off anytime. It's so good! MUST WATCH, all wuxia lovers.

Maybe Tou should have just said, "Shut up you knucklehead and listen to me! I didn't sleep with that b**** and I can prove it." I believe this is what Xue Zhi is waiting to hear. I don't understand why he didn't try to continue their conversation from the last time before they were interrupted. Instead, he is reticent and demur. I really feel like kicking his ass. Serve him right for being kept at arm-length by Xue Zhi. X3

OMG! The slaughter in Chong Huo Gong is so painful, bringing back the memories of Yun Meng Jiang Sect of The Untamed.

Someone says if you watch enough Chinese dramas, you'll pick up Mandarin pretty quickly because most of the lines in every Chinese drama are more or less the same, which I agree 100% . However, don't confuse yourself with Cantonese which is spoken totally differently. Hong Kong dramas are mainly spoken in Cantonese. Also some Taiwanese dramas are not spoken in Mandarin. I hope I'm not confusing you here :)

The first thing came to mind was to get you to watch but then I saw it's already on your watch list :)

OMG! I'm only 5 minutes into episode 1 and I'm already loving it!

Yeah, as much as these major sects always touting themselves as the good and righteous ones, they're also the devious ones undermining others all the time. In the end, it's hard to distinguish the good and the bad anymore. And that's exactly the underlying message that these dramas are trying to convey to us - don't look at the surface, look deeper and see what these people are doing.

IKR! If they're not together and combat all the bad guys with their incredibly powerful wushu, that's such a waste. As much as I like them establishing a solid relationship and trust with each other, I don't want to see a repeat of "talk and reflect" anymore. I need some kick-ass actions. Only that can satisfy my current mental urge in kicking ass XD

Hmm! I had thought they would combat the bad guys hand in hand. Apparently not. They are being separated. I hope this doesn't mean they have very little screen time together, and instead most of the time back to thinking of each other, those "talk and reflect" scenes again. :(

Isn't that how the world has been revolving? The evils always preach righteousness and brandish everyone else. It appears in religions, in politics (look at the USA) and in common folks like us. Many of these wuxia stories are like satires. At one time, the Chinese government even wanted to ban them because there's a lot of political undertone in those dramas.

When Tou was 17 and Feng Zi was 10, Tou was given some wine laced with drug. He was unconscious and slept on Feng Zi's bed with her. Then, her father was led to the room and discovered him. Everyone assumed that he raped her (she was underage), and to make things worse, she didn't clarify things and let it stand that he did sleep her. This led to Tou being kicked out of the Sect, his "gong" destroyed. He was also poisoned, not by Feng Zi's father but by Feng Zi's shifu who was a mole. The whole thing was a set up to frame Tou to destroy him.

5 years later when Tou met Chong Xue Zhi, he was reluctant to reveal the past because he felt Feng Zi's honor was at stack. However, Chong Xue Zhi took it the wrong way as she thought he had an indecent past. Even later she knew it wasn't what it looked, he's refusal to tell her the truth disappointed her, hence the "misunderstanding" we have here.

"...pale-faced guys, who look less and less Asian and more and more European..." - I say they look like mannequins - really creepy.

You're so right about the female characters. I really hate how they portray females like that - all light-headed and fall easily into the chests of the men, despite many (the girls) are supposed to be good in fighting too. They (the girls) can be mean and nasty to everyone, but when it comes to their men, they become submissive (ugh!) Really annoying stereotype. Why can't they make the girls to have more firm legs? And let the girls say, "My way or go fly kite!"

I love the "Lu Zhao Yao" badass character (The Legends) in the beginning but towards the end, they have to "redeem" the character by making her mushy. Really hated that. Yes, as viewers, we should demand better female characterization than these dumb stereotyping ones.

Same! Those shoes look so heavy and bulky.

Let me sum it up for you:

Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, boy doesn't want any relation because of his treatment by his own family. Girl is disappointed. Goes into seclusion and learns her father's wushu. Then talk and reflect by girl. Talk and reflect by boy. More talk and reflect by girl. More talk and reflect by boy. Second boy also loves girl. Second girl also wants boy. Misunderstanding between boy and girl over second girl. Then stop. This is episode 24.

Hope it's not confusing but that's how I feel about this drama so far. Maybe someone else can write a more beautiful story for you. :)

I've watched the 2008 version of the Little Nyonya. It's good. Guess I will watch the new one again. I like Xiao Yan. Thanks for the suggestions!
