He is not an emperor, but a city master, so he doesn't require the type of security an emperor would have needed. His household is more akin to an aristocratic household, less restrictive.

Yes, I love TCM as it treats the root cause of the problem, unlike allopathic medicine which only treats the symptoms with drugs with tons of side effects, often leading to other illnesses :)

There are some real kissing scenes in the final episodes. There's no obvious skinship but alluding to it; condoms are mentioned multiple times :D

I agree it's super slow. If not for the charismatic ML (call me shallow), I wouldn't have found it so absorbing XD. Having said that, the romance is amazing - nothing of the romcom sort, but very endearing, like what you would love in a romance yourself.
