Keep in mind that this technically happens right after The Lost Tomb 2 or you're going to be confused for a bit. One of the main characteristics about The Lost Tomb series is that you always have new face for the characters you already know. In this particular episode it thankfully is only Wu Xie, as Zhang Bo Yu was recasted as Wang Pang Zi (Fatty) after portraying him in Time Raiders (The movie which isn't directly connected to the series) and The Lost Tomb 2. Also, the people portraying Wu San Xing in the past and present, as well as the people in the past in general don't seem to have changed, which is quite a relief for me. As it's only the first episode, it once again is the time to readjust and find out what's actually going on time, which might take away some of the enjoyment. But I was positively surprised to see Wu Xie and Pang Zi in a tomb already, different from other times, where it took a long time for a tomb to even be mentioned (at least from what I remember).
Allergies that noone knows of can be life-threatening
In this episode Hou You Ze's possessiveness shows again, which leads to him and Luo Qian Yi fighting. They somehow talk their differences out and it gets a bit better for both of them (I mean, before that she apparently didn't have a phone?). Luo Qian Yi is taking violin lessons now (that guy looks young af). She still finds those notes under her window with a lavendel branch. When she goes out, she goes into an anaphylactic shock due to an allergic reaction. Possible causes brought up by the attending doctor, who also found her and brought her to the hospital, are food and flowers. Later Hou You Ze's sister shows up and proves to be a spoilt student who probably knows nothing really, that latter part of I relate to quite a lot XDBy now I'm definitely not a fan of Hou You Ze, much too possessive, and would rather take the handsome doctor (Yu Hang). However, that guy also is slightly sketchy as he didn't reveal that he found her. But honestly, I'm more suspicious because he brought up the flowers...
Luo Qian Yi has enough of being confined in a building, be it the hospital in Japan or the house in China. She sneaks out to the coffee house they get their beans from but is quickly found by Hou You Ze. When they return home, they meet a man called A'Chou, who turns out to be Luo Qian Yi's agent. Now the question is brought up why Hou You Ze never told her about her being a professioal violinist, which he claims to be because he didn't want to give her pressure. I was rather surprised that Luo Qian Yi was not only unable to play the violoin, but also didn't remember anything. I didn't expect a huge and important memory but it's quite unbelievable (to me, I have no clue how that stuff works) that there was nothing at all.The episode leaves open several questions. The most important for me being why he always locks her inside. I simply don't understand it. Yes, Luo Qian Yi lost her memories and is more prone to getting lost. But doesn't she have a phone? Those have GPS after all. Another possibility would be for her to meet up with friends outside, but either she doesn't have them or Hou You Ze keeps them from contacting her like he did with her agent. All in all you can say that Hou You Ze shows a lot of possessive behaviours, does not have any trust in Luo Qian Yi, and his motivations seem very unclear to me. I just have no clue what he's up to.That aside, who the hell leaves those notes? My personal guess is that it's some high school sweetheart or sth similar, maybe of of her former collegues.I also definitely will need to get used to the voice actors not only butchering names with foreign pronounciation but also English in general. I'm just glad it isn't German and that there are subtitles so I can focus on those.
Basically, the episode starts with a rather intense opening scene, goes on with the opening (which I personally always skip) and follows up with the avalanche after which it is shown how Huo You Ze met Luo Qian Yi, how he proposed to her, and how they get back to china after Luo Qian Yi lost her memories. Personally, I found the opening scene the most interesting, and I assume that we will be back at this point in either a few episodes or around the middle of the drama. So far the production seems quite good, the plot is a bit unsure as of now but it's only been the first episode, so we'll get to it later. What I really want to know though, why does Huo You Ze not let her see the violins. It seems that those were a huge part of her life, so she might get her memories back a bit quicker. And just saying, the dog is a cutie. His name Mozart however... It makes sense why it's his name but the pronounciation is absolutely awful, well, it's the chinese one, but as a German speaker I'm just sitting in front of my laptop thinking about how much people like to call pets after componists. But well, I don't get to say anything, the dog my family almost adopted was called Beethoven after all XD Yeah, sorry for my rambling but I feel like noone ever checks the episode reactions so I guess nobody will care enough XD
