The show is very tropey but I'm okay with it because what the show has to say within the framework of the tropes is very well done so far. It's calling out unfair treatment of women in the workplace (I loved the subtle commentary of the men congratulating Haeyeong's ex for second place but telling her she was too arrogant about her grand prize win) and normalizing women's sexuality (all of the women are expressing sexual thoughts and feelings, including the CEO's mom). But it's also really fucking funny. Newton's cradle representing the humpity hump, the CEO squeezing the bottle of water. Plus the chemistry of the leads is really working, I like how her chaotic yang energy is balanced by his chill yin energy.

I think it's because it's not the first time and they know she knows about the cheating. You get kind of weary when you see someone who puts up with the same crap over and over.

Did you also notice the spurting water bottle when Yeo Ha Jun was with the CEO in the room with the hospital bed 😂

Ji Uk was in high school when he was at the "orphanage" and he's seven years younger than Hae-yeong so she was already working and probably not visiting her mom because she disliked her so she never met him. But maybe he saw her photos and knew who she was.

Kim Young Dae's long hair was obviously extensions, you could tell in a lot of shots so I was zero percent surprised when he showed up with shorter hair. But if he ever decided to grow a wolf cut for real I'd love it.

I'm 100% sure he is but he doesn't want to trade on his wealth after being abandoned by his parents. It will be really interesting to see where he ends up at the end of the drama.

This show deserves more attention, I don't really care about MDL ratings but it's not trending on social the way it should be, probably because it's a Monday-Tuesday drama on Prime. It's a damned shame because I think it's the best currently airing drama and way better than others I won't mention. Right now it's in the running to be my 3rd favorite drama of 2024 (The Atypical Family and Will Love in Spring are my top two).
