So far Ziyu's fans outnumber Tian Xuning because he's an idol who's younger and was bullied before), but TXN's got 400k likes on Xiaohongshu in 1 day which is more than any celebrity currently. If he can maintain his popularity/likes on XHS, Douyin, Weibo after 3 months he's going to be upgraded to 1ML roles with popular actresses next.

It's filmed in China actually, the location, cast, crew and director (female director Gong Yushi) are all from Mainland China, the producer and novelist is Chai Jidan a Taiwanese author.
It's currently not possible for Mainland China actors to go to Taiwan to act, they need special permits unless they have a spousal visa because Taiwan is very, very strict on allowing Mainland Chinese into their country (due to the democratic voting system and issues like reunification) and in general they don't allow Mainland Chinese to work in Taiwan unless they are married to a Taiwanese. The idea is that if Taiwan allows Mainland Chinese to apply to work in Taiwan freely it will jeopardize their safety in case China wants to reunite by military force because Chinese workers in Taiwan will spy on the military or outrightly help China invade. Contrastingly China allows Taiwanese to enter freely to work or visit their ancestral hometown, that's why somany Taiwanese singers, actors, novelists etc work in China where the market is bigger and more profitable. Chai Jidan can make more money filming a Chinese BL than a Taiwanese BL that's why she films using Chinese actors.
