We'll never get an explanation on how the watch works so who knows ? I assume the watch sends her back to a time where she can have an influence on his future death and since she thinks not meeting him would save him then that's when she would be send back. She wasnt send back to 15ys in the past so the number of years is not set. Also since there is already a "future" version of IS in the past I guess she is limited when it comes to when she can come back.
Question is how she got back in the present. Her last chance never existed since she already used her first chance in episode 13 instead of episode 1 so technically she isn't suppose to be able to travel past the cliff scene and stay stuck there. She said she came back several seasons ago but we don't know how much seasons...

Well they don't really care for real time travel rules anyway in this show so maybe... But I'd assume you need a body to go back to though.

He's dead though... Also he didn't travel from 2023 so there is no reason for him to able to jump to his 2023 self. If anything he would always jump back to his university time self since that's when IS activated the watch.
I don't think SJ would stay away from IS knowing she's in danger, not after everything he did.

Yes ! You impact the past, you create a new timeline, that's the bare minimum when it comes to time travel.
I'm not expecting Doctor who level of time travel (even DW had some inconsistencies though) but like, the bare minimum...

The thing is, his watch is the present watch from episode 1 that already had 3 chances. So the first time travel of Im sol gets erased since she used it in episode 13. What's up with that

I watched that episode in 20mn, obviously he's not dead, it was her last chance to save him, they wouldn't have let him die just like that so the plot twist really wasn't one for me. Now we're gonna have another episode of them "not knowing each other" or whatever despite them getting together in the present and in the past.

Either he still has a crush on her despite what she did and it's back to square one or he doesn't and it's still back to square one because they'll have to get to know each other exept we already did that (and I'm honestly not interested in their RS if SJ doesn't have his share past with IS).
Im sol using her the first chance of past SJ's watch should erased the first time she time traveled no ? How are they going to explain that ?
He already died in episode 13, they better not make him a time traveler, tf is he, a zombie ?

The plot is fine but they are dragging it to fit 16 episodes which is not necessary and annoying.
Also Im Sol acting like a 30yo in the present but a 18yo in the past when she's 30 in the both cases bother me.

Finally! I watched the reality* show a couple of years back, been waiting for the release of this one for a while.

Finally watched it, it was good, but I don't think it's a 9+. But then again the experience is always different when you watch it in one go and when you have to wait every week for it.
The last episode was very rushed like most kdrama these days. It makes no sense to put past+return to present+present in just one episode. I'm left with many questions.

That's the thing, we show him old but Toranaga said he didn't think the Anjin would ever leave Japan. I think Toranaga was right and old Anjin is a dream.

I don't mind the ending mainly because I don't mind stories where you zoom on someone's life to only show a bit of it instead of the whole thing. The show started at the point in Toranaga's life where the regents decided to unify against him and the story really is about weither he'll live or die. I got my answer. I never saw the Anji as the main character, so I never minded him not being on screen most of the time, he was just someone who so happend to have been captured. He thought he could be helpful to Toranaga, we thought so too, but Toranaga never said so (unless I remember wrong). It was like a slice of life, I did expect more but I'm fine with where we stopped. Lady Oshiba switched side, end of the story. We live and we die.
I don't think the Anjin left Japan, at least not in the show.
Mariko was everywhere throughout the episode, her name didn't need to be spoken but she was there at every turn, I loved it. Glad that this ends right after Yabushige's death, I really liked his character, he always cracked me up, even in the way he begged to die lol.
I might read the book now.

Those are good points but they erased the 30yo too much that it feels like she is a different person when she is with him, as in a whole other human being. There's a clear break when he's here and when he's not. It's probably a me a problem haha, but yeah it does bother me a bit.

Good point, I guess we'll see, if it gets too much out of hand I'll drop it. Not a fan of romcom anyway but I like this actress.
